Today has been Canicross followed by more canicross 😍 First off it was an introduction session for Team Torvi who from the photos absolutely loved it! 🥰 I will be meeting up with team again over the coming weeks to help keep them on track with their couch to 5km training. We started Sunday off with our Barkour Club. The sickness bugs going around got the better of some of our other normal attendees but the teams that could make it worked hard. Our puppy team were working on their Dog Parkour UK Level 0 that focuses on building confidence in puppies with different textures. Our other 2 teams were continuing to perfect some of their level 2 moves to assessment level & learn some new level 3 behaviours. Some amazing trailing skills this morning from our teams in a really interesting trailing environment. We were working below & next to the A465 & the river Neath so these were influencing what was happening with their hidden persons scent. Our teams skills are all progressing nicely whether that's recognising what's old & what is new scent & following the correct one, for our nervous dogs realising that the game is safe & people can be approached or continuing to build solid foundations for our puppy team. The other week Fynn managed to get his Dog Parkour UK Level 1 Natural. So spurred on by this success & the fact that Xmas & new year meant shops were shut & things quite, Fynn & I took the opportunity to film his Level 1 Urban. 🫣😱 Fynn is nervous & reactive so this is an environment that I thought we could never complete the requirements. The level 1 isn't anything fancy, it's not hard or complicated moves, but the requirements do mean that the moves must be performed in a certain way & for the correct amount of time. Some really challenging trailing conditions today not only with the weather but also with the other distractions & environment. Out continuing our canicross training. Nemo is managing to run for longer & not stop & sniff absolutely everything!! 🤦🏼He still isn't pulling all the time but this is ok as he is still getting to grips with his job & building up his fitness. It's very different running with Nemo compared to Fynn.
