Our Animal World's mission is:
PET-HM

Protection- Bringing awareness to the plight that many animal and plant species and entire habitats are currently facing, encouraging a passion for conservation to help improve the world we all live in.

Education- Teaching others how to look after all animals to a high standard and trying to stop animal abuse and neglect for the future to ensure all animals are looked after in the way they deserve.

Therapy- Sharing animals’ amazing ability to calm the human mind and heal the body through Animal Assisted Therapy sessions in educational settings, care homes and 1 to 1 session.

Happiness- The joy that these wonderful animals can bring into someone’s life is a gift that we want to share. The smiles they bring are priceless.

Memories- Creating amazing memories that will last a lifetime for all ages and strengthening a bond between humans and animals.

Every single one of our animals here have a name, an individual personality and a place in our hearts. Be it our stick insects or tarantulas, our lizards and snakes, or our rabbits, sugar gliders or hedgehogs, they are all so amazingly individual and we love every last one of them for it.

We always strive to do the best we can (and more) for all of them and we think we owe it to them and all the other animals we share this amazing planet with be it a pet or wild animal that we treat them with love, curiosity and compassion.
And that is what we stand for.

Introducing our two newest residents: Ava & Iris the chinchillas! 😍 it’s safe to say the staff here are already in love with these gorgeous, beautiful babies 😍
We are hoping that they will join our team to be able to come out with us when they are ready! Aren’t they absolutely adorable 😍

We’re back at Christchurch Mansion for one day only (well- until the summer holidays 😂) with a host of our ‘cute & cuddly’ animals: rabbits, Guinea pigs, African Pygmy hedgehog, Syrian hamster, sugar gliders, chickens, Kakarikis, our gargoyle gecko Sophie & our baby red footed tortoise Billie! 😍

Meet Otto our Kimberly rock monitor.
These guys are native to North Australia and as the name suggests, they would flatten their bodies and hide away in between rock crevices if they felt in danger.
They get around 3-4ft in length, but most of that is their tail!
They can live around 5-10years, some even reaching up to 20 years!
Otto may look cute, but he is a little mischief maker! Within 24 hours of coming to us he had already found his way in between two pieces of screwed together wood! Cue the dismantling of one of our custom built vivariums 🤦🏼‍♀️ he is now in a temporary escape proof enclosure until he gets a little bigger! 😂 but it’s ok, we still love him! 😂💚

One of our amazing mossy frogs calling. These are one of my absolute favourite frogs- they look so much like moss that it can be hard to find these wonderful little guys! Let us know if you’d like to see a whole video on these absolutely amazing creatures! 😍
