Diversity, safety, enrichment.

We all love dogs, but In order to provide this type environment.
One must “Know” dogs.

The ability to read their behaviours, cues & body language.

We provide a safe, balanced environment for dogs to thrive and develop.

Friday Field Trip!🐾

It’s all about diversity.

Different breeds, genders. Neutered/Un-neutered.

All here are steady, respectful & most importantly.

Have the opportunity to be a dog and do what dogs do under experienced & knowledgeable supervision.

🐶💕🐾

Field Time with the rabble🐾

Nice & steady, run, walk, play, socialise. 😊

Enrichment is about being able to be a dog, sniff, investigate, enjoy a bit of structured freedom. Building confidence, allowing for de-compression and learning.

Lead walks don’t achieve this, hence we provide a little extra.

Contact to arrange a trial session for your dog💕🐾

*Training with Wynn*

We will help any dog. The more difficult, the better😆

“Wynn” The Huntway/Collie Cross. (New Zealand Herding Breed)

Wynns, floats between over stimulation, anxiousness and reactivity to people, dogs, whether inside or outside her home. (Excessive barking whilst walking, sitting……anything) and pulling whilst walking.

We’ve focussed on reestablishing connection between her and her human family.
Applying the corrections where they need to be applied and reward where it be needed. But absolutely no more softy softy talking to her like a baby, negotiating and ignoring behaviours.

Without a confident handler that can provide a dog with a sprinkle of purpose, a feeling of safety and confidence. A dog will assume a position of making its own decisions. And inherently, those are poor decisions.

We’ve been implementing engagement exercises, drills, impulse control. And making Wynns dog mama a more
Confident, secure handler. No matter what the situation.

We started in the home, set homework’s and then have moved out to places where we know Wynn is going to be triggered.
Because only through exposure to the issue. Can the issue be started to be resolved and worked through.

Lots of owners today who have no control over there dogs all around Wynn. But she and her mom did amazing.

We must be our dogs advocate.

Not treat them like a baby, reassure them like you would a human child.

Respect your dog for what it is and learn to give them what they actually need. Not what you “think” they need based on our human emotional responses.

Well done Wynn & Julie🐾

Training:

Is he not one of the most handsomest German Shepherds you did see!

“Ozzie”, a G.S through and through.

Mom and dad trying to find their place of balance with him.

Ozzie and mom & dad are growing together. And it really is a pleasure to see growth and bond between Human & K9!

Well done Heath & Sue👌

16/01/2022

Training:

A really good, positive day today with some training clients.

A Jack- Russell that can be dog aggressive on lead and also no engagement with handler.

Also an over stimulated, non engaging, German short haired pointer.

We took things to a new level, not only pushing the dog. But also their parents outside of their comfort zones, tune up drills & tasks & also multi dog handling.

It’s fantastic to see a clients view point, confidence level and skill level change for the better. Improving areas such as dog to handler connection, respect for handler and a willingness to engage & comply.

Great work all round today👌🐶💕🐾

🏛”Rome Was Not Built In A Day”🏛

Some of the people we work with have more success than other when changing their dogs behaviour.
Some of the people we work with Unfortunately do not 😞

Now the difference between those that do and those that don’t is.

Those that have the success they visualise:

🐾Put time aside to dedicate lots bits of time through the day to work on what they’ve learnt with their dog.

🐾Stick to the plan and don’t add their own little bits with consulting us first!

🐾 Build their dog up slowly & not run before they have achieved a strong walk. Thus setting the dog up for success, not failure.

🐾Stick to the plan!

🐾Stay in contact and ask questions and act on the advice given.

🐾Stick to the plan!

🐾Stick to the plan!

We have no more time than anyone else, in fact we probably have less, We more than likely have more dogs than the average🤔

But we will do our best to find time, even if that be 5 minute increments through the day. We will be consistent and build our dogs up bit by bit

Remember “Rome wasn’t built in a day”

TRAINING & BEHAVIOUR”

Jake & Blue, the Huskies🐾😊

Mom came to us because both of her boys took her for a walk. Would actively challenge human passers by and can be dog aggressive.

In 3 small sessions we have done the following:

🐾Given dog mama the tools, knowledge and skill to feel more confident. And feel more in control.

🐾Helped both Jake & Blue to see mommy as that leadership role. And stop making their own negative choices.

🐾Shown mommy how to effectively, calmly, competently & confidently get her boys to walk to heel and follow direction & not react.

We still have some work to do in the home and a few other things but HUGE progress. And most importantly mommy and the boys are feeling good!

And we are not feeding them treats every 10 steps, which is 👌

*TRAINING*

Had the pleasure of working with the beautiful “Pippa” today. The Anxious, over reactive to traffic Collie.

1st session today with her and her mommy and we just decided to get straight out there and tackle this issue head on.

Already had previous trainer with no success.

1hr session completed after a little 30 minute get to know you chat.

The change speaks for itself.👌

Still some work to do and confidence building with mommy and fine tuning but we will get there quick smart☺️

We change people, more than we change the dog.

*TRAINING*

Meet “Snoopy”.

Snoopy has had a previous trainer. And after Training,

Snoopy still pulled like a train 🚂 when out for walks.
Snoopy was still disengaged from his owner (the client in the video)

In the home Snoopy still followed his owner everywhere she went in the house. (Seperation Anxiety)

Now with a new trainer, a no nonsense approach, no bribery (treats treats treats!)

Snoopy is more engaging, more focused.

He Is now starting to accept his role in the family dynamic. And as a consequence is calmer in his mind & more willing to allow mom to lead and not the other way round.

We always say, the 3 F’s. Firm, Fair but Fun. We tech you what that looks like 👍

We can still love our dogs, but at the same time give our dogs structure, boundaries & most importantly. LEADERSHIP.

The most challenging thing about dog training is not training the dog.

It’s changing the behaviours of the owner & creating a Leader. Therefore as a consequence, changing the dogs behaviour.

Well done Michelle, still a ways to go. But massive progress in a very short space of time.

BE PROUD!👌

Diversity & Inclusion😊

A dogs, a dogs, a dogs a dog!

Leadership creates balance, balance creates harmony!🐶🐾💕

Big, small, girl, boy, neutered, un-neutered. It doesn’t matter.

What matters is respecting who and what they are……Dogs.

Together with their owners, we treat them as such & give them what they need. Hence we can achieve peace amongst our 4 legged friends.
