We’re heartbroken to announce that Soaring Wings Training is closing down. This has been far from an easy decision to make, but we know it’s the right choice. It’s been an absolute pleasure to help so many people build better relationships with their parrots and learning to understand them better. However, due to a lot of changes in circumstances as well as economic hardship we can no longer continue doing this.
We’ll of course complete all consultation bookings and orders, as well as free flight courses.

We want to take a moment here to thank all of our loyal customers and our Very Informed Parronts. You all have made this journey so much fun, none of this would have been possible without you.

We’d also like to specifically thank Parrot Trust Scotland, All Star Parrots, and Feathers & Tails for their partnerships and support. It’s been a dream to work with you guys.

If your parrot is changing their behaviour right now, don't worry. It is completely natural for them. Many parrots go through a hormonal period this time of year. Your bird may begin nesting, biting, screaming, not wanting your attention, wanting your attention in the wrong way and/or just not acting like their usual selves. You may have noticed that majority of our posts over the past week have been small birds! These guys are often seen as "starter" or "beginner" birds. There is no such thing though! A lot of people will tell others to get parrots such as cockatiels or budgies because they are "easy", which also makes people think you don't need to do much. This is not the case though! These guys require just as much care as other species.
If you are considering getting a parrot please do your research. Don't get a "starter" species. Look into a species that fits your lifestyle, meet people with this species and once you're ready then consider getting that species. We see very often people are buying "easy" parrots to get experience and then getting the species they originally wanted. Once the new parrot they have always wanted enters the scene the other parrots often get ignored and sometimes rehomed.

So always research first!
