Baxter is just back from a holiday in Ireland with bestie Rhodri, who he knows from other lovely holidays in London, Filey and St. David's. He had a splendid time, loved the ferry journeys, during which we had a cabin so he could stretch out, and he also became a European passport holder, which will hopefully lead to more overseas adventures.

Baxter and I have been busy recently with two very cute Yorkshire Terriers. Despite their small size, these two certainly kept Baxter on his paws, and me on my toes. They have very different personalities, but both enjoyed being out and about, as well as jumping on me a lot!

As humans start to go on their summer jollies, their dogs also get to enjoy fun times with me, Darren and Baxter. We've had a hoot with the boisterous and whirlwind of energy that is Rosie, and Wisp is a truly beautuful and gentle soul, who brought a civilising influence on Rosie and Baxter. Thanks Wisp! Having a short break now, to catch up on socialising and events, before being ready for our next boarders.

As I was thinking about how much I missed the rain, I was reminded that Jasper, my very own rainmaker, was here recently, when it did, as it always does when he stays, rain! He gets wet regardless of the weather, finding any puddle he can, to jump in, and absolutely loves having his big wet ears dried when we get home.

It's coming up to two years of business for Dawn and the Doggies, and we're now very well established, and lots of lovely people send their dogs to us regularly, for short, and longer stays. My back injury last year continues to mean I can only board smaller dogs, or medium breeds with good lead training and/or excellent recall, and so Ted's trial night last night, was significant, as my customer list is now complete for the foreseeable future. Ted made the list as he's simply adorable, and another joyous friend for Baxter. He enjoyed walking in the cool shade and playing in the garden, as well as keeping me company whilst Darren went to see Bruce Springsteen! Welcome to DatDs Ted! Also, thank you very much to our regulars, and all the dog owners who have used us in the past two years. We look forward to continuing to board your dog/s when you need us.

Rosie the Boxador boarded recently and we made sure she kept cool, with super early walks. I'm actually looking forward to some wet and cooler weather, as at the moment we're on 5am starts!

Recent boarders Pippa and Molly have enjoyed the sunshine, whilst playing with Baxter, and helping me with litterpicking. Pips is young and bouncy, and Molly is quite elderly and small, but Baxter rubbed along with both of them, although he did steal Molly's bed whenever he got the chance!

Jack loves a big stick, after he’s lost all his balls, Baxter loves to mooch, and I love to litterpick. Jasper rejoined us briefly too, and he loves to run. As a result, we’ve all had a great time recently!
