I’m a big believer in mental health taking a priority above anything but also understand the challenges and demands of how self employment often leads to self care taking a back seat.

I’ve learnt first hand how burnout feels. That the expression, you can’t pour from an empty cup is true.

As a mother, I am switched on 24/7 to respond to the needs of my children. When they rest, I work. I share my life with four dogs and two horses, all of which need my attention.

Let’s not mention the home🙈

Pulled and pushed in different directions all the time.

It’s really easy to pick up the phone and answer a message at 11pm to a client, but that’s how bad habits can creep in!

Boundaries for your business and personal life keep you able to offer people the best version of you.

Self care moments are vital.

What do you do for self care?

Personally, I brush my horse or walk the dogs. It’s certainty, control and has an achievable end goal!

Our course will start you and your herding breed one the journey of understanding, managing and training. From crazy to calm.

The Urban Herder will show you how to:

Train two - three key exercises to improve focus & reduce fixation,
Successfully train these behaviours around triggers within the environment,
How to handle equipment such as leads and long lines like a pro,
The management needed for success,
Outlets for your collies herding desire.
Throughout the course there will be opportunities to ask questions.

Each week you will need to share video of your progress (minimum of three videos). We ask that you post only the essentials with clear information as to what you would like feedback on. By doing so it ensures that you will receive specific activities suited to your dog to develop or strengthen their skills.

There will be opportunities to learn from other resources through the course as well as engage with other participants and their progress.

Job Description

The Centre of Animal Behaviour is looking for experienced individuals to join our expanding team as rehab trainers, to complete follow-on sessions after the behavioural consultation as well as provide training sessions on a 1-2-1 basis or in a group class.

We are looking for trainers to cover the following areas:
1. Greater Manchester
2. North Derbyshire
3. Cheshire East

We are looking for individuals with experience in the dog training industry, with relevant qualifications and/or membership with force free associations.

Would ideally suit a dog trainer who has their own positive reinforcement dog training business but is looking to work alongside a behaviourist on more complex behaviour cases and increase their experience in this area or someone returning to the profession.

Minimum job requirements:

• Covering areas Greater Manchester, North Derbyshire or Cheshire East
• Must have reliable transport
• Must be able to confidently use Microsoft Word.
• Must be confident handling and training dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages.
• Interact with the public within a professional manner.
• Be self-motivated.
• Work well within a team.
• Have a passion for people as well as dogs.
• Continuing education and increasing skills in human and dog training.

The ideal candidate must have:
A strong work ethic and drive, be honest and most importantly, a passion for people and dogs. Computer skills with the ability to write training reports. The ability to work on weekends and weekdays. Exemplary communication and customer skills to build rapport with clients.

Part-time hours: To be discussed at interview
Expected start date: To be discussed at interview.
Salary: Dependant on experience.

With a rare few moments quiet, I thought I would formally introduce myself.

My name is Beth, I run Limitless - Admin Services for Pet Professionals which started in October 2020.

After having Ethan I made the decision not to return to full time work and going self employed enabled me to work around my families needs.

Since the age of 14 I have worked within the Animal Care Sector. Most recently, I worked for Dogs Trust Dog School as a Senior Coach delivering classes to pet guardians in West Yorkshire. I have also worked within veterinary practices supporting the administration side and ran my own dog training business.

My experience within the industry coupled with my passion for organisation and drive to help others enables me to assist others with the parts of their business that they aren't so keen on!

Freeing up more time to do what they love.

Away from the business I run around after Ethan and Eliza alongside four Border Collies and a horse. It is a fast paced, hectic life style but I thrive and live for it.

After all, why set a limit?
