Sometimes in order to speed up, we have to slow down 💕
Vito used to feel distressed getting this put on, and it used to take his humans up to an hour.
So instead of chasing Vito around…
➡️ I sat down and gave him space and patience
➡️ I gradually worked on teaching him cooperative care
➡️ I taught him how to help get himself ready
And after his hard work, it started taking less than 3 minutes to get ready for a walk 🐾

Time for Vito! 😍
This Cane Corso is working with me to help him learn that he doesn’t have to defend his home when he’s out in the garden- and he is doing such a great job.
In the reel, you can see the refuse men behind the gate and Vito is getting rewarded for not interacting or responding to them. 🐾

🐾 A Message of Hope and Understanding 🌟
I want you all to know that I've been exactly where you are right now. That dog in the video? The one struggling with fear, barking at everything, and feeling overwhelmed? That's my sweet Kovu. This clip captures a time when we first brought him home.🐾
I remember those daily walks like they were yesterday. The tugging, the pulling – it felt like a battle. And oh, the fear in his eyes when the world seemed too big for him to handle. Every tiny noise was a trigger.
But here's the beauty in the journey – with endless patience, genuine understanding, and the therapy techniques I've learned through the years, I've been able to help Kovu find the peace he needed.
In the second part of the video, you'll see Kovu walking chilled, staying close on leash, no pulling and taking in the world without reacting negatively, and now four years later he's still showing his resilience in the busy world , and the transformation is incredible. He's come so far 🥰🥰
Now, don't get me wrong, we're not without our challenges indoors. But I want you to know, I wouldn't trade Kovu's unique journey for anything else in this world.
To all of you facing similar struggles, know this: change is possible. It takes time, dedication, and a heart full of love. I've been in your shoes, and I'm here to remind you that your efforts matter more than you know.
I'm here with open arms and a heart full of understanding. If you're seeking guidance or simply a friendly ear, click the link below.

Todays session with Rolo was all about teaching him the word for the behaviour he’s doing. ❤️
It’s not about eye contact or 100% focus it’s being able to see his surroundings and still feel comfortable enough to check in with us rather than seek out the threat.
There is no good or bad behaviour it’s all just behaviour. It’s up to us to guide our dogs and teach them the behaviour helps the situation 🥰❤️
Progress update on Rolo. He did excellent work on disengaging today ! With the added bonus on nailing his recall too. I must prefer working long term with a doggy rather than just a few odd sessions as I get to watch them grow and progress and I am on hand if anything needs changing or adapting. Seeing Rolo work so hard and enjoy it at the same time absolutely makes my day 🥰🥰 ( I left my whilst in the house and apparently I can’t make the same noise as good 😂 but Rolo did great for still recognising it as a signal to break his gaze) #dogs #dogtrainer #dog #behaviour #cutedog
🐶 Story of Transformation: Meet Rolo 🐾
🐶🌈 I'm so excited to share an inspiring journey of growth and transformation with our cherished client, Rolo. 🏆
While I primarily work in a virtual space now, I'm still committed to providing that extra support wherever I can. It's been an absolute privilege to work closely with Rolo, guiding him towards conquering his fears and embracing newfound comfort in his surroundings. 🌿🏡
Rolo's tale began with reactive behaviors like lunging, barking, and growling – all rooted in fear. 🐾🦮 But guess what? Through consistent effort and dedication, we've witnessed a remarkable evolution that I can't wait to share with you all!
Rolo's journey isn't solely about training; it's about creating a sanctuary where he can flourish. 🌼 Our primary focus has been on empowering Rolo to feel confident and at ease in his environment, all while taking into consideration his distinct body language and addressing his unique needs. 🧘♀️🐕 It's a journey centered around Rolo's well-being and empowerment.
The secret ingredient in our success? We've delved into the language of reactive dogs, understanding that their lunges and barks are a plea for space and comfort. 💬🐶 We've rewired the situation, starting at a distance where Rolo feels at ease. As he shows signs of curiosity and seeks interaction, we've gently progressed, all while keeping a watchful eye on his body language. And when he's feeling stressed and exhibits a "freeze" response, we take a step back – giving him the control he craves. 🚶♂️💨
And guess what? Today marked a monumental achievement – Rolo's debut in his very first doggy stooge setup! 🌟🐕 This setup serves as safe practice, fostering disengagement and desensitization without any other doggies coming to harm. Believe me, this was a momentous occasion!
In the video, you'll notice Rolo's curiosity piqued as he locks eyes with the "doggy." 🎥🐾 But here's the r
Beautiful Freya came for Therapy because she was too friendly !
This happy little girlie has such a love for life that it caused her to pull and drag her owners to every dog and person on her walks so she could say hello ❤️
And as wonderful as they may sound it can be quite dangerous when Freya is jumping up at people and saying Hello to unknown dogs.
During Reactivity Therapy we worked on Freya’s impulse control and creating more calmness without suppressing her friendliness and joy of life and that she can get all the loves and attention she needs in her little bubble without having to seek it else where.
🐶Vito is a 4-year-old male Cane Corso🐶
HE HAS A HISTORY OF LUNGING, PULLING, AND BECOMING AGITATED WHEN PEOPLE GET TOO CLOSE AND DOGS ARE IN SIGHT.
🐾Vito's behaviours caused his guardians so much stress and sadness and they found it difficult for to enjoy walks or take Vito out in public resulting in early am walks and sticking to the same route every day.
When Vito's guardians first brought him to me, it was clear that he was experiencing fear and anxiety around people and other dogs. He would become agitated, barking, and lunging towards them, making it difficult for his owner to handle him and keep him under control.
In this video, you will see our progress with Vito as we work on changing his behavior from lunging and pulling to a simple head turn. By rewarding him with treats and increasing the distance as well environmental reinforcement , we are slowly helping him to overcome his fear and anxiety around people and other dogs.
🥰We hope that by sharing Vito's journey, we can inspire and encourage other dog owners who may be facing similar challenges with their own pets. Remember, with patience, love, and a commitment.
If you have a dog that exhibits similar behaviors, know that there is hope for change. It takes time and patience, but with proper training and dedication, dogs like Vito can learn to see people and other dogs in a more positive light.🥰
