Important Notice:

Yesterday, we received concerning information from a badger group regarding reports of individuals door-knocking in Theddlethorpe. These individuals are allegedly asking residents if they have badgers in their gardens, claiming to offer “free vaccinations for badgers.”

The reporting badger group has contacted The Badger Trust, which confirmed they are unaware of any vaccination schemes taking place in this area.

If you encounter such individuals, please take the following precautions:

1. Request identification and, if possible, take a photo of it.
2. Do not disclose any information about badgers or badger setts on your property.

You can then:

1. Share the photo of the ID with your local police force by calling 101 or 999 in an emergency.

2. Alternatively, send the image to us or your local badger group, who may be able to verify their identity or liaise with the Rural Task Force.

Your cooperation is vital in ensuring the safety of badgers!

Jeremy Clarkson is scapegoating badgers for bTB and has reportedly slaughtered them all on his land. This is disgusting, cruel, and ignorant.

We're all about raising awareness and providing education, here, and we couldn't emphasise the following statement more: 'the more you know about our wildlife, the more you'll care and, most importantly, the more you'll want to protect it!'

So, this year, we're on a mission to raise more awareness about some of Britain's most threatened species and what we can all do to help them!

'Wildlife in Focus' will do exactly what it says on the tin, except it's not on a tin... maybe it should be🤔? It will focus on the species that we, as a nation, are most at risk of losing, and the wider impact their loss could mean for us, as a society.

Over the next year, we will bring you up to 24 of these posts and all the resources you need to learn more and make a difference!

First up, and in honour of "Walnut" our adorable winter lodger, is the red-listed hazel dormouse.

Please share far and wide to help bring attention to this small but mighty species!

Storm Eowyn is expected to bring severe weather to Ireland on Friday, with extremely high winds and heavy rain. A Status Red warning has been issued, and it’s vital to take precautions to stay safe. Secure your home and outdoor items, and avoid unnecessary travel during the storm. Remember to keep pets indoors in a warm, safe space and provide shelter for wildlife, leave out food and water etc. Let’s all do our part to protect ourselves and the animals around us during this dangerous weather.
