Maggie's Voice Equestrian Center is a wonderful place for people to come and build a connection with a horse. The horses work with all sorts of riders, including those with learning difficulties and complex emotional needs. I visit the yard regularly to keep the horses’ bodies healthy so they can carry on the brilliant work they do.

It is also a privilege to watch the beautiful relationship between Elinor Brewer and all her horses 🥰

I recommend these a lot for my clients- the bands really help to improve engagement and spinal posture when used as part of a rehab programme or as part of a normal and correct training regime 🏇

The magnets are also helpful for multiple reasons 🧲- Feisty and Nubin both have some form of magnetic therapy daily to help their old joints 🦴

Merry Christmas 🎄 to all my wonderful clients and their pets 🐶 🐴

2024 has been very busy, having made the move from being a part time physio to full time physio in September 😱 I’ve been so lucky to be super busy right up to Christmas 🎅 🙌

Thank you to everyone for booking my services and I look forward to many more success stories in 2025 🥳

Merry Christmas to everyone, and a happy new year 🥂

I’m back to work on Tuesday 7th January- if you have any questions until then, please do not hesitate to ask but replies may be a bit slower (I may be preoccupied with building scenes and battling Pokemon 😂) 📞

Tonight I am grinning from ear to ear- just like in the photo 😁

I had the absolute joy this evening, of teaching 11 wonderful riders and their ponies 🐴 (yes you read that right- 11! 😮 I must be mad right 🤣?!)

We crafted a Christmas spectacle 🎄 for their parents involving drill riding in opposite directions, riding in pairs and performing changes of rein in walk and trot with riders on opposite reins 🙌 there was every ability in the arena from those just really getting confident with the canter to riders working on creating contact and every age of pony from 4yr old up to 20-something yr old 🤩

And do you know what? I’ve never seen kids and ponies perform so brilliantly! The kids tried so hard and were so focused on matching their partner, staying as a ride, doing whatever movement I told them to do- not one wobble, tantrum or tear in sight and really really superb 👌 riding!

I think the parents were quite impressed 😂

This evening I really felt privileged that part of my job involves working with kids and their ponies to achieve something like we did tonight 🥹

Happy coach and so unbelievably proud of the riders and their horses 🐴 🥰

The diary is pretty full already for January so if you’d like an appointment and haven’t requested a new year one, please get in touch asap 👍

Thank you to all my wonderful clients who have kept me busy with coaching, riding and treating horses 🐴 and dogs 🐶 I have the best job in the world 🥰

I’ve seen mainly dogs 🐶 this week which makes a lovely change! And a welcome break from the bitter weather outside 🥶

And for a variety of reasons- young dogs starting agility careers 🛝, middle-aged dogs with ongoing issues 🤕 and older dogs starting to slow down a little bit 👵🏻

This is Marley- well Marley and his little friend Ralph (affectionately known as rat dog 🐀 😂). I’ve been working with Marley, his owner and the vet 🚑 for over a year to help him recover from a forelimb lameness- soft tissue injuries are a slow process and Marley is loving all the attention 🥰

If you think that your dog 🐶, horse 🐴, or any other pet 🐈‍⬛ 🐇 🐑 🐐 🐄 🦙 could benefit from a treatment, please get in touch 📞

Why not treat them to a 🎅 Christmas 🎄 treatment 🎁?

From my biggest client yesterday to my 2 smallest clients today 🐩 Shirley 🩶 and Pierre 🖤 tiny toy poodles 🐩

Shirley is an older dog who has regular physio so that she can continue to enjoy her walks 🩶

Pierre was a rescue so has some behavioural issues so treatments are varied and often just involve him sitting next to me enjoying my company but the goal is to keep him dancing 🕺 for as long as possible 🖤

Physio isn’t only for dogs following surgery or a diagnosis- it can help strengthen them 💪 and reduce the chance of injury or help them enjoy life in their older years 🧑‍🦳

Oh I do love a box of chocolates 🍫

So, I think all of my clients will vouch for the fact that I always say ‘message me if you have any questions, issues or might just need me’ 👍

My point of view is that as soon as I am employed by a client as a physio, a coach, a clipper queen or anything else animal related, those animals become part of my little herd 🐴 🐶

I worry 😦 about them and care about their progress and am always happy 😊 to help where I can with advice ✅ or another point of view 👀 or just an ear to listen to worries👂 or to watch a video 🎥 or to watch a pony trot up 🐎 or whatever 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sometimes, I know that I am taken for granted by people that don’t employ me and that upsets me 😔

My wonderful clients however, never take advantage, even though I am happy to help any time of day ☀️ or night 🌙 so getting a box of chocolates for spending some time with an existing member of my little herd was really kind and I was taken aback by the kindness 🥰

So- reason for the post? Not to get more chocolates 😂 but to say- if your animal is part of my herd, I’m happy to help and would rather you contact me sooner rather than later 👋 I care about all the animals I work with and am happy to give up time and energy to do whatever is needed of me outside of physio visits, or coaching sessions 👍

If you need advice, or help from a professional and you don’t already employ them, don’t take advantage- a professional has spent years learning their skill and gaining all their knowledge so don’t take advantage of it, or of kindness, if you’re not going to employ them or show them any thanks 😠 it’s not ok 👎

So I’m off to go and enjoy my box of chocolates in front of the tv 😊

This beautiful big girl is Charlie- she’s an ex broodmare and her new owner got her to give her a second life 🥰

She was very weak when I first met her but today, on only her third visit, she has almost doubled in size and has built up a decent amount of muscle 🤩 doesn’t she look beautiful? 😍

Her amazing progress is due to her diligent owner doing everything she possibly can 👌 including Charlie’s prescribed exercises regularly 🙌 I get regular video updates of her completing the exercises and it is clear to see the improvement in her limb movement, coordination, strength, stride length and range of motion 😮

All of those improvements are due to a number of factors:
😣 regular physio to help reduce any pain and discomfort and to ‘reset’ any areas of compensation and tension
🏃‍♀️ completing prescribed exercises, designed to target a particular aspect such as neck range of motion
✅ regular updates and reviews of the exercises to make sure they are being completed correctly, aren’t causing Charlie discomfort, and are appropriate for her stage of rehabilitation
🥰 a brilliant owner who does everything she can to make sure Charlie is healthy and happy

Improvements can’t just be made with a one off visit from me- it’s about the work in between and regular reviews 👍

Don’t you all agree Charlie is just beautiful? 🤩

It’s not all horses 😂 I treat dogs as well 🐶

An evening visit to the lovely Fern who has had a rough couple of weeks after an accident 🚑

Her owner wants to make sure she’s doing her rehabilitation exercises properly and that Fern is getting all the support she needs 🤗 Fern’s mum doesn’t need to worry though - she’s doing an amazing job already 🥰

Physiotherapy isn’t just for animals post-injury 🤕 it can also help prevent injury 🚨, support overall health and well-being ☺️, and improve performance 🏵️

Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet on social media recently 🤦‍♀️

It’s been a really busy autumn 🍂 and it’s still busy going in to winter ❄️

But if you think physiotherapy can help your horse 🐴 or dog 🐶 or any other 4 legged animal 🐱 , please do get in touch 📞

Physiotherapy isn’t just for competition horses or dogs recovering from an injury 🤕

Physiotherapy can help elderly horses to help keep them supple and reduce discomfort over the cold winter ❄️
Physiotherapy can help happy hackers reduce the risk of injury and cope with the mud and slippy terrain that comes with rain 🌧️
Physiotherapy can help competition horses stay on top of their game 🏆
Physiotherapy helps aging dogs stay mobile 🐕
Physiotherapy can help all animals recover more efficiently following an injury 👍

These are some of the ways physiotherapy can help animals 🙌

I use a number of methods during treatments including:

🔥 heat therapy
🔴 laser therapy
🧲 electromagnetic therapy
🙌 massage
🦵 stretching
🌊 H-wave
⚡️ TENS

To name a few 😮‍💨

So if you’d like to book an appointment, which includes an assessment AND treatment, please do get in touch 📞

I look forward to hearing from you 😀

I appreciate every single one of you who takes the time to write a review, tag me in posts, recommend me to others 🙏 !

Small businesses flourish on the reviews of others, and I thank you all for the feedback 🩷

If you haven’t written a review, please could you - either on Google or Facebook 🥰

Something different! Maverick has been having physiotherapy for idiopathic forelimb lameness 😔

But in between wedding preparations, his owners have been doing a great job of doing his rehab 👍

So much so, he strutted around the wedding totally sound 🙌

Congratulations on your wedding 👰 🤵 🐶

I’ve been super busy with physio treatments 🙌 and I don’t take many photos or videos of those to show you 📸

I’m also busy clipping as well- today I clipped Solo 🐮- we weren’t sure if he’d ever been clipped before, and being clipped in less than ideal circumstances (rain 🌧️, under trees 🌳, with lots of grass 🌱) but he was brilliant for his first clip ✂️ and I even managed to clip in a daisy 🌼 onto his bum for his owner’s granddaughter, Daisy, who rides Solo 🥰

Not too bad 😁 I made my own stencil from sticker paper from Amazon 👍

I’ve got limited availability for clipping, physio treatments and anything else horse related until the end of November so please get in touch 📞 if you need anything 🙏

Common misconception that physiotherapy is only for animals undergoing rehabilitation but it can do so much for all animals! 🐶 🐴 🐱

Have a read below on the post about how physiotherapy can benefit your animal 🥰

I could add a whole load of scientific evidence to this post…but I’m going to keep in simple!

All the things physio can help with….
✔️Anxiety reduction and improving confidence through conditioning and improving comfort levels
✔️Bonding with their caregiver through the home exercise plan
✔️Pain reduction (and in some cases reduce pain medication use)
✔️Prevent injury through body conditioning for performance animals
✔️Performance enhancement
✔️Improve mobility of aging animals
✔️Prevent injury of animals with poor conformation (physical structure) through postural conditioning
✔️Slow progression of degenerative conditions
✔️Help as an assessment tool to locate areas of pain and dysfunction to aid veterinary diagnosis of musculoskeletal/neural issues
✔️Mental stimulation/enrichment with the home exercises

I’m sure I’ll keep adding more to this list as I think of more…! But basically ALL animals can benefit…rescue animals with physical and mental scars, horses who are ridden (even happy hackers), or dogs who go running with their owners…animals with imperfect conformation (and let’s face it who is perfect?!)
