We waved goodbye to Melon this week to join her new family, luckily they’re just 10 minutes up the road so there will be regular visits to say hello!

Melon is a 15.1hh 9yo connemara mare by Glendine Kestrel.

She has the most wonderful laid back temperament and a fantastic attitude to life. Melon has done lots of hacking alone and in company and has just started her competitive career gaining 69% in her first ever dressage test she has also started attending showjumping in which she has excelled, although still low mileage she is taking everything completely in her stride.

Melon is extremely good to do on the ground in all ways catch, farrier, bath, clip, load, travel etc snaffle mouthed and doesn’t need riding everyday. Super easy to handle at home and away. No lumps/bumps/sarcoids etc

Now looking for a new partner to have a lot of fun with her!

Melon had her first competitive outing today exceeding everything I could of hoped for with a 🥈in her first ever test!

We didn’t go with any real expectations today, just to get her out, see a bit of life and steer her round a couple of tests as she’s only been off the yard once since arriving from Ireland last year, has never been indoors and never worked in around other horses.

She was an absolute little legend was absolutely not bothered in the slightest by being somewhere new, working around other horses, being indoors, didn’t look at the boards nothing, we swear she’s walked this Earth before!! And just to top it off she was 2nd in her first test on a fantastic 69.57% just .43 off the first place percentage! We did a second test where I just felt like we’d done too much but she still managed a fab score of 66%+ and 4th.

An absolutely fantastic start to her competition career, will be very much looking forward to the next one.

Melon is currently available to new 🏠 at any point of her education.

Kildromin Melon had a little school down the fields tonight, she’s feeling fab and really takes everything asked of her totally in her stride! 🤩

We made full use of the Jubilee decorations around the village today and needless to say she was completely unphased by any it and didn’t even so much as flinch!
