The post that is so bitter sweet to write. Today, not only is our last day before Xmas, it's also our last day of Happy Hounds. My husband, Matt, & I are expecting a little bundle of joy in April & so have decided that this is the right time for our Happy Hounds adventures come to an end, before we start our next adventure of parenthood! I'd like to thank all of my wonderful customers both past and current the biggest 'thank you' you could imagine. The past 3 years have been an absolute joy, your wonderful pups have really made my job a dream. I'd also like to thank my mum, Jane, for her never ending suport and always there to lend a hand, the pups have got to know her so well & are so pleased when she joins us on our adventures, come rain or shine! Oscar and Charlie will certainly miss heading out with their pals, they've been such a big part of the business, often helping to teach, entertain & bring on the younger members. But thankfully everyone is so local I'm sure we will be meeting up for walks & brews in the future! We hope everyone has a truly wonderful & safe Christmas and New Year & thank you all once again 💝

If there was ever a perfect way to finish, this would be it. This mornings walk was just fantastic, Otis, Rufus, Charlie and Oscar had such a fab time out together at Santon Bridge, my mum & I couldn't help but smile watching them...and then dive out the way as non had breaks!

Best part of my job is watching friendships form & blossom. Bridie LOVES her time with Charlie and has oodles of confidence with him! Dudley also joins in too once he's finished investigating the smells & if anyone would like to admire the ChuckIt Oscar will gladly show it off!

Dudley, Oscar, Bridie and Charlie did a circular loop at Ravenglass today. I used to work in this village & it was nice to see some familiar human faces as we walked through the village. The pups loved the estuary zooming about, and then the field sections too - having a muddy good time!!

Whatever was making that noise was very intriguing foe the pups, never seen them keep still for that long!

Bridie really couldn't understand why Charlie was so pleased to be parading round with the wanger, but thought it looked fun so joined him! Dudley, despite already being out on the fells 1st thing was full of himself 🥰🤣

Bella and Charlie love to zoom together! Both super fast!

Zooming for the sake of zooming! Otis and Charlie are a perfect match going at 1000mph and quite boisterous whereas Rufus and Oscar take it a little slower and calmer

What could be better than an open field and a best bud to zoom with! Just maybe needed some crash gear! Charlie has 0 breaks!

Benson and Charlie love zooming through the woods, and I'm so proud of Bridie joining in - she's always been a 'one on one' pup, but now she's got the courage to join in when there are multiple dogs.....and of course Oscar would like to show you his ChuckIt

Charlie was far too busy in his own little world and didn't see where Bella had vanished too (don't worry I had full view of where she was) Look at his worried little face when he realises she's not around...He thought she deserves a pounce on when she came back!

These two a certainly little explorer's! It's nice to watch them, not only to they hurtle about but they wait for eachother too. Oscar likes to keep an eye on them but doesn't stray off the path far from me

Let me introduce myself...

Throughout my life my family have owned a number of dogs, giving me the perfect childhood of growing up with four legged friends. At the age of twelve I was given the greatest gift – my own dog! From then on I have enjoyed training, exercising and caring for a number of dogs. Over the years I have experienced friendly and lively dogs, as well as those with behavioural and confidence issues. Each dog has been a learning curve, but a complete joy to own!

In 2008 I enrolled in a 4 year degree in the hospitality and business management sector. This led me into the service industry working in a number of hotels and restaurants with customer service as my main focus. In early 2018 I decided to change my career and was fortunate enough to secure a role working for a dog walking service. All those new doggy friends made it the perfect career change for me and something I wish I had done sooner! I decided 2019 was my year; the right time to take the plunge to bring my degree in business and love of dogs together and Happy Hounds was formed.

Over the years I have completed many Kennel Club Good Citizens awards with my dogs, some of which have been a challenge but we got there in the end! When I ventured into the dog walking industry, I completed my basic online course for Pet First Aid & CPR. From a firsthand experience I understand the upmost importance to know these skills therefore I enrolled in a classroom based course held in Newcastle. This course covers all aspects to an advanced level where students take part in discussions and are assessed on both their practical and written knowledge of Pet First Aid & CPR. I feel that this has given me much more of an understanding and I feel confident in administering safely and correctly first aid and CPR to any dog who may need it.
