Introduction to Active Search this afternoon at

All the dogs already had a great foundation of play and retrieve which helped progress them quickly into open area blind searches by the end of the workshop 😁

I had a blast, thanks everyone for coming along. We even managed to enjoy the sunshine 🌞

This came up on my memories today, I'll forever smile when I see this photo 😆 9 years ago, time goes so fast.

Once Jacob hit adulthood it was so rare to see them play, they more or less just coexisted. But they were once very playful together and bitey face (while lying on top of me) was a favourite game of theirs. The clashing of the teeth and random nasally noises were hilarious.

Has anyone else got any photos that look like their dogs are trying to savage each other? 📷

For a bit of time I honestly just thought Jacob was going through a random phase of not listening to us and acting like a teenager again on a walk, and then in the house assuming he was just more tired and not waking up to us coming home.

Turns out actually he was just not able to hear us. It's getting progressively worse but it's definitely not full deafness. He can still hear certain pitches, like his Acme whistle or other fast high pitch noises. I'm hoping it doesn't continue to get worse, but we will just see how it goes.

3 amazing dogs and handlers completing their level 1 Mantrailing awards.

Jacky and Isla the pocket rocket. Isla has come so far in her journey to being confident in different environments. The fact she now gets out of the car where she's nervous and knows she's going to be doing something she loves. I'm so glad I met Jacky, she's a great handler, understands the needs of her dogs and is always up for a laugh 😅

Sandra and Haggis 🐾 Sandra has now come and tried all of my different scent sport options with Haggis which is something I always admire, trying new things, giving your dog options and variety and seeing what works best for them. Haggis has been know to take Sandra on some adventures while Mantrailing, and I love that she just goes with it 😆. Haggis is one determined wee terrier when he's on the hunt for his person with tuna.

Jo and Sandy. Sandy has a lovely natural trailing and tracking style. He's strong and fast which Jo does really well to handle because it's not always easy! Jo is super dedicated to providing Sandy all of these activities even if it means travelling a bit to come to sessions, which makes me feel happy and proud 🥰

Look at my little guy, having never had done marked retrieves with other people and on day one not understanding that he had to look out to others, he absolutely nailed this on day two 👌
