Deafness can be a very isolating disability, so a hearing dog offers constant companionship and emotional support, giving deaf people the confidence to reconnect with their family, friends and community around them.

This combination of practical assistance and lifelong friendship can be completely life-changing ❤

ANTIBIOTIC AMNESTY 2024 💊
Team Rosemullion are taking part in the 2024 Antibiotic Amnesty!

Throughout November we are asking pet owners to return any unused or leftover antibiotic medications to us for safe disposal. Please drop off any unused medications to us at the practice. You can hand them in to a vet, nurse or the reception team.

This medication might be left-over from a recent prescription, antibiotics that you didn't need or out-of-date medication.

Let's keep antibiotics working, together! 💚

ROSEMULLION FALMOUTH OPEN DAY 2024 💙🐾

Join us at our Falmouth practice for our fun-filled Open Day on Sunday 24th November from 11:00am - 3:00pm.

Take a tour of our dedicated recovery wards and see where your pets rest and recover after surgery. You’re also welcome to visit our treatment room, where day patients and inpatients receive attentive care, as well as taking a look at our cosy, separate dog and cat wards.

Activities on the day include face painting, bandaging a teddy’s paw and a raffle in aid of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. As well as a variety of demonstrations, you will also have an opportunity to meet our friendly team.

While we welcome you to bring your four-legged friends along for the day, please be advised they will not be permitted to access certain areas within the practice, so you may need to bring a willing dog-minder along with you too!

We have plenty of free, on-site parking, and most importantly, a variety of tea, coffee and delicious cakes will be available. 🍰🧁

We hope to see you there!

REMEMBRANCE DAY ❤✨

The 11th November is a day dedicated to honouring military personnel who lost their lives in service to their country. The date commemorates the armistice signed at the end of World War I on November 11, 1918.

Wearing a poppy is a show of support for the service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces, veterans and their families. It represents all those who lost their lives in active service, from the beginning of the First World War right up to present day.

Have you seen the recent rules that make it a legal requirement for everyone in Great Britain who keeps birds outdoors to register with the Animal and Plant Heath Agency (APHA)? 🐓🦆

You can find more details here:
https://www.bva.co.uk/media/6059/guidance-for-registration-of-kept-birds-sept-2024.pdf

https://vets.blog.gov.uk/2024/08/22/new-mandatory-bird-registration-what-do-keepers-need-to-know/

The rules apply to poultry and other captive birds including pets and aviary birds.

You do not need to register indoor birds such as budgies, parrots, cockatiels and finches if they are fully housed in a dwelling (your home or other indoor structure) and with no access to the open air.

✨ NATIONAL STRESS AWARENESS DAY ✨
Wednesday 6 November marks National Stress Awareness Day, which seeks to raise awareness of the negative effects that stress can have on our health.

While stress can sometimes serve as a helpful motivator, too much of it can negatively impact our mood, body and mind.

This is where our pets play an important role 🐾

They can greatly help to reduce stress and boost mental-wellbeing. Interacting with pets has a soothing effect on the body, helping to lower blood pressure, ease anxiety, and increase feelings of social support.

Petting or cuddling animals can release oxytocin - a hormone that promotes relaxation and bonding - while also lowering cortisol levels, which are linked to stress.

So are you feeling stressed? Take a few extra moments today to cuddle your pet and ease those feelings of tension ❤
