When our dog became disabled and incontinent we needed lots of belly bands to ensure that we could keep him clean, he could have a clean band at least once every day and to keep him from soiling his bed and the furniture etc. Buying the quantity we needed online was working out quite expensive, and as I already had a sewing machine I figured I would have a bash at making them myself. After some ti
me figuring out and drafting a pattern and how to construct it, I was happy with how they turned out. I enjoyed making things for him and creating things from fabric so I starting making other items...... But there's only so many belts and blankets one doggo needs, so I decided to set up Snug as a Pug to sell the items I make. To start with I'll be releasing Belly bands (AKA Incontinence/Marking belts), Blankets and toys.... but i'm hoping to progress into washable puppy/incontinence mats, dog coats, jumpers, p**p bag holders, and maybe harnesses/leads, booties (to protect feet), rear leg lifts and drag bags for disabled dogs (and whatever else I think i can make).... when time allows. (This is not my main job so items will be released as and when I get round to making things.) PLEASE NOTE: I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL SEAMSTRESS, THIS IS JUST A HOBBY THAT I ENJOY
Most of the fabrics I use are bought by the pre-cut piece and it is not always possible to get the same fabric when I go back to the supplier, so items will be sold on a first come, first served basis. I will make as many items as I can and then if an items sells out and I can get more of the fabric, I will make/release more. (if an item sells out that you would like, please let me know and I will keep my eyes open for more of that fabric and let you know if we manage to get some more)
To start with, products will be aimed at dogs, with most blanket sizes being ROUGHLY* 70cm x 100cm, but I plan to make smaller products (where possible) for cats/puppies/tiny dogs in due course. (Due to products being hand made, all sizes are approximate). None of the fabrics will be pre-washed to avoid any reactions from your family/pet from the detergent I use, so I strongly recommend pre-washing your item yourself when you receive it. I also recommend washing your product on it's own initially just in case there is any colour run from the fabric. Returns on items can be made within 7 days in an un-used, un-washed, re-saleable condition, but the buyer must pay for return postage unless the product is 'faulty'. In the rare instance where an item is deemed 'faulty' it must be returned to us and we will pay the return postage cost. (Faulty does not cover items destroyed/damaged by your pet, wear and tear or from damage caused by/during washing). All of our items are made from fabric, therefore, they are not suitable for pets that like to destroy things. Torn fabrics from toys or blankets can cause a choking/blockage hazard and WE WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE SHOULD YOUR PET EAT ANY OF OUR PRODUCTS. Belly bands should always be used with a human incontinence pad to absorb any urine and to keep as much of it away from your dogs skin as possible to avoid urine burns. Pads should be checked regularly and changed if soiled, and you should clean your dogs belly regularly. You should also regularly check your pet for any signs of 'rubbing or chaffing' from the bands (or pads) or any urine burns on their skin and discontinue use if irritation occurs. Some of the fabrics we use are softer than others so may be more suitable for some dogs. (Please contact us if you would like more information before buying). Unfortunately we are only able to supply our products within the UK, excluding the Isle of Man, parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Channel Isles. I hope you like my items...if your doggo does too, please send us a picture and we'll put you on our page :)
Thank you for supporting my little hobby business xx
