Today The Sage and Sanctuary rescue has been deeply saddened, as we have been subject to some online and private slander.
Whilst we have not been an established rescue for very long, we take our role in the community very seriously and try our best for all the animals coming into our care.
Just like any other rescue established or just starting we have made a few mistakes along the way but have put 110% of effort into correcting them and learning from them.
Already we have helped many animals and rehomed them or put them into suitable foster homes and we hope we have offered plenty of support along the way.
It is a well known issue that there are more animals in the area than we have room for but we do accommodate for as many as we can but have to do so safely and in line with regulations.
The sage and sanctuary rescue believe it is important to remain professional so we will not reply to any private messages or public posts that are purely to insult or intimidate us.
We are confident that the work we do is helping animals and we know we are making a positive difference in the community even by helping just one animal at a time, we make absolutely no profit and accusations to suggest we do this to make money is very unbelievable.... Anyone in the rescue world knows that rescues all over the country are struggling and there are absolutely no funds to keep as a profit!
There are times when people of the community are not going to fully understand the work that that sage and its team put in behind the scenes but please be assured we try our very best to do right by all the animals that come into our care, we are however heavily dependant on fundraisers to help, the money raised is allocated depending on the need of each animal and the urgency of care they require.
Sometimes we raise a set amount of money for a purpose that is not fulfilled at the time due to an emergency with another but rest assured all donations made to our rescue can be accounted for.

6 Beautiful, healthy and happy kittens! All doing brilliantly!
This beautiful Mama had what I can only describe as the most unbelievable, magical and surreal birth I have ever witnessed!
Olly did such an incredible job, with us only having to intervene at the very end to cut the last 2 umbilical cords. She is such an incredible mum already! She is very trusting with her foster mum, trusting her to watch over her babies while she stretches her legs and has a boiled egg or two...
Due to the number of pregnant mamas currently in our care (As well as an abundance of adorable kittens), we are now struggling for donations again. If you could help us at all we would be extremely grateful...

This is Georgie… 🐾
When we came across Georgie he was so afraid because he could hardly see, he had pretty bad eye infections as well as fleas,ticks and worms…
We currently have Georgie and his sister Lucy in our care however Georgie has quite the bond with his friend Pembroke 🤞🏻
Georgie is now looking for a long term foster placement that can allow him to come out of his shell, explore and help him to build his confidence.
He’s such a funny little boy, he’s believed to be around 2 years old yet he acts like a young kitten, he’s a friendly boy he just needs some understanding and patience.
This poor boy hasn’t had it easy 💔

Today Lucy was treated for Fleas, ticks and an ear infection.
As you can see she’s already much happier in herself and feeling much better with her treatment on and nice clean ears.

This is Bella.
Bella was surrendered to us a few weeks ago and when placed into foster she immediately stole the hearts of her foster family. Originally they were keen to adopt however, after some time it was clear that it wasn’t working. So now Bella is up for adoption once again.🏡
Bella is a sweet girl, she’s only 8 months old.
She is very energetic and playful, she needs someone who can give her lots of attention (and treats) she’s a greedy girl too!
Bella is currently in foster with another cat, dog and older children and she’s good with them all, she can sometimes play a little rough which is why we have specified older children only.

Lucky is incredibly affectionate as you can see! He’s only 4 years old! He loves cuddles and will do anything for a head rub! He’s brilliant with children and other cats! He’s an extremely brave boy and loves exploring. Anyone would be Lucky to have him!

Mittons was taken to a vets for a consultation, Mittons had a limp and was surrendered during the consultation.
The vet provided pain relief. After receiving some pain relief and already feeling much better the vets then contacted us to see if we could help… 🐱
Mittons is now settled in with her foster family and although she may need some more pain relief and crate rest you can already see she’s very comfortable and happy! 🐾
Because of this devastating situation Mittons was brought to us with absolutely nothing but the crate she was in. No bed, toys or food.
