My beautiful Maude is struggling at the moment, her injuries to her body before she was rescued have started to affect her everyday life. Maude’s back legs gave way yesterday her knee and hip on opposite legs are riddled with arthritis, as you know she has had two surgeries on her knee and her hip is displaced so it was only time that this was going to happen, she is on very strong pain killers which is helping, but it only masks it and her hydro therapy gives relief. However Maude’s spirit is high and nothing seems to get her down she loves cat watching out of the bedroom window and still annoying her k9 brothers and sisters. Life is so infair at times.

Well I have a new brother called Morgan, I do like him, mum says I’ve got to stop tormenting him 😆 I only want to play, but he’s not to sure what to do, perseverance is the name of the game, resistance is futile 😀.
Ive been to hydro therapy again I’m liking the water more now and my legs feel good in the water. Short walks are the order of the day which I love.
My sister Bella had a day at the vets yesterday she was feeling very poorly 🤮she’s home now but resting, mum face went like this 😮this morning as I had a runny bum but then remembered I opened a bag of bird suet yesterday I am clever,it was yum so panic over. So with Bella out of action I’m using Kane as a sleeping pillow.
It’s going to be very cold next week so mums pulling out the numerous coats to see which one fits us best.

I’m back!
It’s been a very eventful few months for Mum and she just hasn’t had time to log me on.
Well since my last update I’ve had two dental operations with two more to come as it was discovered a lot of my teeth were fractured under the gum line and needed to be removed but I was a brave girl and I have a much better feeling mouth.
I also had my leg plate removed as it had become infected and it wasn’t clearing up I had a superbug of an infection mum said no ordinary one for me 😆. The operation was a great success and was putting full weight on it quiet quickly all was going well until I got both cones of shame off and did self surgery in removing my stitches so it set me back a bit, which wasn’t a bad thing if I had known I was going to be dunked in water
💦 and asked to swim. I gave Mum the evil eye on my first session. My instructor Helen is lovely and ensures me it will help all my joints as they are not in a good way, although I don’t let it stop me in anyway.
All my K9 brothers and sisters are well and still make lovely cushions for my strange sleeping 💤 positions.
Life is good, Mum says I’m still cheeky but loving and I make a lovely water bottle on these cold winter nights.

Apologies that I haven’t updated Maude’s thread for a long time, a lot going on. Well yet again I have to say what a fabulous girl she is in every way I can’t believe how lucky I am to have her as part of my family. As you all know she had a terrible cruel past and unfortunately her body has started to feel the effects, but don’t feel sorry for because she doesn’t every day she enjoys life to the full. In a previous post a mentioned she was great at wedging up the bed to be close to me well now once in position she plays the dead fly act for about 5 mins until the others get fed up and move then she get even more comfy, you can’t help but smile as she has it down to perfection and the other dogs just adore her so always give in. Maude loves to play, all day if she could and the others have no choice she torments them until they give in and then gets totally excited until she exhausts herself and the slumps down to sleep. Maude loves being out and about doesn’t matter where as long as she can say hello to every human or dog she’s happy, she’s a ⭐️ not a bad bone in her body greets everyone the same.
I’m so proud of her on how forgiving she is to the human race how gentle she is with her own kind and how nothing fazes her what a dog. I love her to bits ❤️🐾

I have been to Clumber Park again today. Alfred was left at home as mum said the run would be to much for him as he’s an old boy, he wasn’t very happy.
Bella Hugo and I had a great time, I was on a long line so more freedom I was a very good girl, no running tomorrow a very casual day for me to ensure I look after my operated knee joint.

Maude reporting in, my mum would like to apologise for not updating my post recently, but she has been unwell, something called vertigo mum says if they remade The Exodus she would get the lead role with how her head has been spinning and how she looks 🤮 😆.
Well mum also says now she’s feeling better the adventures will begin again, don’t worry myself and my k9 brother and sisters have been well looked after it’s just been shorter walks and not through all the woods as usual and mum says we have looked after her so well 😊❤️.
Mum also says my true character is well and truly out, something about being really cheeky it must mean an angel I think 😇 x
The pesky cat who lives across the road keeps teasing me by sitting across the road opposite the door window, mum thought she would be clever and frost fablon the little windows so I now go upstairs and stretch my long legs and look out the bedroom window. 😂 Apparently Izzy is not for chasing.
I love play fighting and before I would join in the fight, but now I start them which is great to see mum says, however she does request that I don’t start them when it’s bedtime. Talking of bedtime I’m known as the wedge, I don’t bother rushing upstairs now I let the others get there first, then I access the situation position myself in the best place and wedge my head slowly between until I’m right next to mum, this wisdom comes with age 😆
Anyway I hope everyone is well and I look forward to reporting in more often now love Maude x🐾❤️

When I first arrived at my forever home, many of mum’s friends asked if she was going to change my name well as I’ve been in the uk for nearly 3 months the answer is no and here’s the reason why. Mum lost her dad a few years ago but when she use to visit him in Carrickfergus they always went to Mauds Ice-cream parlour and as her dad was a huge dog lover and volunteered at a rescue centre she thought my name was meant to be and that I was destined to be apart of the Gordon family x😊🐾❤️

Well now we have recovered from the festive celebrations I wish to send you New Year wishes for 2023 may it be happy and healthy. I had a wonderful time, we spent Christmas Day morning and Boxing Day at Clumber Park i had a wonderful time loved being free in the secure paddock and enjoyed the walk round the lake pointing all the ducks and swans i was even commented on how well I pointed, mum was very proud of me🐾❤️.
I would like me to tell you about my K9 family all rescues.
Hugo (green coat) is her younger brother from Spain he is a gentle boy who tolerates everything we throw at him not a bad bone in his body loves to play and cuddle up with us.
Alfred (grey muzzle) older brother, Cyprus rescue a real charmer whose slowing down now, takes no nonsense but again likes to be in the thick of it.
Nellie (blue coat)younger sister Cyprus rescue, just a beautiful girl full on from the moment she gets up until she goes to bed. Loves playing all the time gets very excited and spins but we all realise that Nellie is special and we all look after her.
Bella my younger sister Spanish rescue, loves to run, loving , playful , annoying but wouldn’t have her any other way and tug of war is good fun with her.
My K9 brothers and sisters are great I am so happy in my new home thanks to everyone, those that found me Apollos Angels for looking after me and getting me better and finding me a home to call my own xx

Just over a month now that Maude has been part of the family she is wonderful. ❤️ Considering what she’s been through she hasn’t lost her faith in humans. Every time we are out walking someone always stops and talks to me especially as I’m walking 5, Maude will always approach and loves the attention she gets she is so gentle and that applies to other dogs as well large or small she has no fear. Maude loves being out she has a very good nose and even better spotting ability those pesky squirrels 🐿, however not to keen on the rain and we have had a lot recently.
Maude had bonded so well with Bella, Hugo Nellie and Alfred I don’t think she has a favourite anyone of them will do when she wants to play or rest her head on one of them 😀
Like any typical pointer her stretching ability when on the sofa she has down to perfection luckily there are plenty of beds for the others unlike Maude they won’t plonk themselves on top of her 😆.
Cannot tell you enough how lucky I feel to have adopted this beautiful girl, it was meant to be x🐾❤️

Gorgeous Maude soon be time to find her happy ever after , she is not a young girl 8-9 years old , she has had a very hard life and endured such cruelty and she deserves to live out ger final years with love and comfort Awaiting surgery on her knee then good to go , still an active girl with many good years left She has certainly had a good MOT whilst with us

Maude find my forever home has had a week at vets had a massive MOT Lumps removed and sent for analysis, spayed , teeth removed , ears deep cleaned , hips xrayed , full body xrayed , full blood screening , skin condition treatment, joint supplements She has dropped a lot of weight probably from stress of a vet kennel environment so we are glad to have her home She has an old broken rib that protrudes out that we cant do anything about, her back knee is shot and she is going to have to go back in for surgery The unbearable thought about the tongue has been confirmed that it has been deliberately removed Sure she will be back to her happy self soon everything crossed I could honestly kill the sub human that did this with my bare hands and still sleep soundly
