Woe is me... I've now been back with foster folks for 5 months and no sign of a forever home 😪. I'm going to get a complex if no-one comes forward soon. Please spread the word that my handsome self is looking for a loving, energetic and experienced home.

Foster mum is rubbish at technology 🙄. She didn't realise a facebook story disappears after a day, so she's posting again to remind everyone of my new year's resolution... to spend more time openwater swimming.
She has also outright refused to come in the water with me 😆 but foster dad says he might take me for a proper dip in the river when the weather warns up ☀️🏊‍♂️ if I've not found my furever home by then.

Dear Father Christmas

I have tried really hard to be a good boy this year and so I thought I'd tell you what I'd really like for Christmas...

1. A forever home 🏡 to be my very last one.
2. My very own people who understand that when I growl, bare my teefs, snap and occasionally nip, I'm trying to tell them I'm uncomfortable or scared. I'm not bad or naughty, I'm just asking them to listen to me and respect me.
3. No children at home. Although children seem fun, I shouldn't be trusted not to tell them off if they push my boundaries.
4. Lots of fun to be had. I've got the usual Kelpie energy and brains, and can put my mind to any job you want me to do. I will become self-employed if you don't provide this 😉
5. Lots of affection but on my terms. When I trust you, I'm a snuggle bum.
6. A relatively quiet location. I'm pretty good living in a village or the countryside, but I don't think I'm much of a townie or a city dog.
7. I'd be happy as an only dog or to have a friend or two, as long as we take time to get to know each other and I have my own space to eat and sleep and to help with slow intros.
8. A strong routine. I like having a pattern to my day and I settle into it really well.
9. Consistent and calm training. I'm a sensitive soul who doesn't respond well to harsh words or treatment.
10. Experienced dog owners who have looked after tricky dogs in the past, as I am no walk in the park.

My budding bromance with foster-bro Marley 😍, who to be fair has a general lack of social skills when it comes to other dogs (aka, he is a grump).
It seems that I quite enjoy having another dog to play with in the house, and although I could happily go to a home where I am the only dog and got all the attention, with careful and slow introductions and my own space to hang out at times I'd be happy living with another dog (maybe even 2 or more!).

Now that foster peeps have finally got electricity back on, I can post a pic of my wet and windy weekend. Whilst I look like butter wouldn't melt in this photo, about 30 minutes later I was telling foster mum off with snapping teefs when she pushed her luck trying to dry me. She's taken it a few steps back and is only doing my front legs for the next few days again but plans to build back up to my back legs. Slowly slowly 🐌 as they say, as I am still very sketchy about all things animal husbandry.

Loving my walks with foster bro ex-KW Marley. My recall is getting better and better. And I'm pretty relaxed with other dogs when I'm off lead. Not as sure when I'm on the lead, but I might just be a frustrated greeter.

Some of my fans may already know that I went to a physio a few weeks ago as I seem to have picked up an injury. Well I had my second session yesterday and according to her and foster dad, I was an absolute star (their words 😉). I enjoyed showing off to get treats and even let the physio wave her light laser thingy at me. And I do seem to be improving on walks, with my gait normalising for the most part. I've got some homework to do and another appointment in a couple of weeks. So fingers crossed, I'll be as fit as a fiddle in no time.
