Dressing up your cat, whether it’s costumes, coats or accessories can restrict your cat’s movement and make them less able to express their normal behaviour.
This can cause them to feel threatened and unsettled and reluctant to be held or stroked in the future, resulting in less favourable behaviour changes, and no-one wants that!

Through our Lifeline service, we provide vital help to survivors of domestic abuse and their cats. As many refuges are unable to accept pets, we offer alternative care in a temporary, loving foster home until survivors are able to be safely reunited with their cat.

Good afternoon and happy Sunday to all of our lovely followers and supporters 😸
Now, it's no secret that our marvellous moggies love a good cat nap. But did you know that our feline friends sleep from anywhere between 12-18 hours each day!
But why? Well, one of the main reasons our cats love to sleep so much is to keep their energy levels up (in the short time that they are actually awake 😹) A tired cat with no energy can't hunt or protect themselves, so it's important for them to sleep a lot and make sure that they're ready for anything! Our domestic cats might not do an awful lot in the way of hunting for food, they still have a natural instinct to sleep a lot so that they have the energy to explore and play throughout the day 😁
Where is your cats favourite place to take a cat nap? Your bed? Their own bed? In your basket of freshly washed clothes? We would love to see! 😻

•Raisins (present in mince pies and Christmas pudding)
• Gravy. Most gravy ingredients include items that are toxic to cats.
As cat lovers, we want to try and include our cats in the big day itself, but sometimes all the hustle and bustle of the day can be too much for our kitty friends so please ensure there is a safe, quiet space in your home for your cat to relax.

When should you get your cat or kitten neutered?
Cats can be neutered at any age, but we'd recommend getting your kitten neutered at around four months old. This is because female cats can start having kittens from around this age, so to prevent any unwanted litters it's important to get them neutered as soon as possible. Cats aren't selective who they breed with and will even breed with siblings!
So protect your cat - it's kinder to neuter.
If you're looking for help with the cost of neutering your cat, you might be able to use our reduced cost neutering scheme. With our neutering scheme you could get your cat neutered and microchipped for £10

🛑MISSING CAT, LONGTON🛑
Have you seen George? George is a black and white cat who has been missing from the Longton area since 16/11/2023.
George is not neutered or chipped, but his owners are aware of the importance of this and have made plans to have him neutered when he returns home.
If you are in the Longton area, please check all sheds and outbuildings for George. Also, whilst the weather is cold please knock on your car bonnets a couple of times and listen for anything underneath, cats like to hunker down in them due to the warmth of the engine.

Simba, a 6 year old ginger & white male has been missing from Blackburn BB2 since 23/10/2023. He is microchipped but unfortunately his chip details are still registered to an old address in Didcot.
Simba is a Maine C**n x Norwegian Forest Cat, he is mainly ginger on top and white on his underside.
His new owner has had Simba for only a week so he will not be used to the new area just yet.
If you're in the area, please keep a lookout for him and check all sheds & outbuildings as Simba may be hiding.

We're looking for transport volunteers with access to their own vehicle to help transport cats and equipment across the region.
You will be an integral part of the team, supporting the smooth running of the branch across PR and BB postcodes. Full training will be given, and out of pocket expenses reimbursed.
