Finally got out to our first medium today! We had one very happy ebony which also meant she got a bit sassy at times 🙈 however we’ve set a good starting point and ready to get out again and get going on what we need to improve 😁

I’ve missed being between these ears, even though it’s been less than a week 🙈 we had our first practice run through of a medium test. We’ve picked up where we need to practice ready for our comp the week after next 😁🤩
So much love for this pony. She took the weekend in her stride and Danced her little heart out. I couldn’t have asked for more from her for only her 2nd stay away show. 🥰🐎🏆
Darcy had her best dancing shoes on today and produced a lovely test 🥰🐎🏆
We survived the winds now let’s get the wet suit ready for the torrential rain tomorrow 🤦♀️ ☔️
Lovely practice test for Darcy today, despite the 45mph winds she kept it together with a lovely little test. She wasn’t sure about the scary stables rattling in the wind but seems more settled this evening ready for the semi finals tomorrow 🏆🐎
Early morning show prep, Area festivals here here we come…….
Top dog…..
The boss……
Lulu bug 😍
Barnaby
Sadly we lost Barnaby suddenly when he was only young, he became very ill and despite all ours and vets efforts he was too poorly. Not a day goes by when we don’t miss this pony. He came to us at 8mths old and was such a sweet loving boy who loved kisses, he was curious, kind and everything I ever wanted in a horse. I often wonder what the future would have been for us. Forever in our hearts 💕 🌈
Golden oldies….. Ollie or Big O!!
Ollie was one of the few geldings I owned, he was such a gentle giant at 17.1hh . Ollie was a jumping machine 🥰 Ollie came to my first professional yard I worked at and taught me so much in our time together.
Bethany Cameron - our wonderful groom
I have always been passionate about horses for as long as I can remember. My first job was helping out at a riding school when I was just 13, since then I have worked in multiple different disciplines.
I have worked for Ellie for just over a year now and I think it's safe to say I have found my home with horses 🥰
Meet the team
Ellie Mansbridge
From an early age I have shown a keen interest in horses. My mum tried to steer me in a different direction but it’s in my blood!!! I have worked at event/dressage yards and gained experience in backing horses and learnt from the best. I have up to my level 3 BHS and nvq horse management. I love competing and spending my days with all the horses in my care at PL Livery and Equine Services
Tommy
Every little girl needs a Shetland 😍 Tommy is the sweetest Shetland ever! He is a perfect first pony for Tilly and everyone (horses included) loves Tommy
Ebony
My sweet cuddly dressage diva. I love this mare so much, she has taught me a lot about dressage and I am still learning as we journey through the levels. We hit a speed bump over the winter with shoeing problems but hopefully we are back on track and hit the ground running with a lovely trip out yesterday. We are stepping up to Medium BD and Ebony took me to my first area festival and under 25”s champs last year.
Darcy…….
I love mares and this one is a particular favourite ❤️ I’ve had Darcy from a fluffy little 2yr old, I have loved backing her and watching her take on every challenge with this much enthusiasm 🤪 Darcy is currently working at Novice BD. We are looking forward to Darcy”s first under 25’s championships and area festival this summer.
Coblit……
An absolute super star ⭐️ Coblit started my love for eventing, he would jump anything from any angle with so much passion, he loved his job and would look after his rider! We had so many years of fun together. Coblit is my mums pony , he’s definitely a yard favourite now having a quieter life at 17yrs old.
Sienna……
My second pony, she taught me about patience and being in tune with your horse. She has so much love to give and loves a bum scratch and cuddle. We spent many hours schooling and teaching sienna there are more than two speeds- stop and full pelt!!! One of the cheekiest characters on the yard. Sienna is retired with us but still keeps us on our toes 😍
Meet the ponies…….
The one that started it all!! Tilly tots. Tilly has been in our family since she was 16, my first pony and boy was she the most perfect first pony, cheeky but perfect 🤩. Tilly is now retired and Nanny”s my most recent dressage diva and is living her best life at 30yrs young
It’s been a long tough winter with ebony but I’m so glad we’re finally out the other end 🤞🏼 ready for a summer of hard work and fun!
And that’s Darcy all qualified for the summer area festivals! Love this little mare and we even got to dance in the sun today! ☀️
I think we can all agree it’s been a very long and HARD winter. It’s moments like these that I keep going for! Our second competition of the year and we smashed out a 73% 😁 we also got the kindest comment from the judge! Couldn’t be happier with Darcy’s progress and so excited for what’s next ❤️ thank you Amanda Mansbridge and Bethany Cameron for being the best team🥰
We finally got to our first competition of the year! So pleased with how Darcy went today, she did have a little too much fun in our first test which knocked our percentage down but made up for it in our second test which led to us winning our section with 67% 😁 onto the next! 🥰
Practise, practise, practise! 😁

We finally managed to get Darcy out to a long overdue lesson today! I’m pleased to say we kept all four feet where they should be the whole time and she tried her heart out for me ❤️ even in the horrid rain ☔️ now to get some comps booked in!
Darcy having a school today in between all the rain showers ☔️ she started off wild 🙈 but after a quick run on the lunge she decided to eventually behave! 😂
Darcys been in a bit of a spicy mood for the last few weeks, I think lots of people have been through this it’s just that time of year! 🙈 luckily I think we’re finally over it! The first video is a small taster of how she’s been and the other two videos are from our ride in the sunshine today! ☀️ time to crack on now she’s keeping all four feet where they’re supposed to be!
Another great lesson today. Little by little Darcy is getting better. She’s slowly but surely getting stronger and producing little bits of really exciting work 😊😍 big thank you to Sondra Rutter Equestrian for helping us with our journey 😊
One of the things I have been trying to crack with darcy is our walk/trot transitions. She gets tense and throws her head up both going from walk to trot and trot to walk. Today I decided we would focus on that by doing a serpentine with transitions over the centre line each time. At the beginning we weren’t getting anywhere and I could feel myself gripping with my legs and it was an argument between us each time. So I took a breather to regather and decided I would ditch the stirrups so I couldn’t grip… this is the aftermath! It’s not perfect but it’s 100x better. I just wish I got a before video!
I’m not going to lie, clipping is up there with one of my least favourite jobs but my god is it so much easier when your horse is this easy! Ebs stood like an angel while I shaved off all her fluff today! We didn’t even need a head collar! 😂🥰
A slightly late post but I can’t even explain how manic our weekend was! Darcy competed in the inter county challenge for the bucks team at Bury farm. It was a lot for her to take in. It was her first stay away, there were flags and decorations everywhere, it was very very busy and she’s never been in an indoor arena like the one at bury farm! Unfortunately her young side did show in the test and she was a bit green and very tense so we didn’t get our usual marks on paper but when she settled she really did feel amazing! She makes me so excited for the future with all the great comments she gets off people and judges!
