In memory of our Henry 🐭

Would anyone understand the sadness you feel?

Not many understand the bond that you had.

But remember this as their home is cleared,
Your love and bond has yet disappeared.
That tiny house they will no longer doze,
Instead they live wherever your heart goes.

🦴 It’s time.

We absolutely love Nylabone and recommend it to anyone who is getting a new puppy. Both our girls have had Nylabones since puppies and regularly have 3 or 4 on the go at a time (usually 2 chicken and 2 bacon flavours 🐓 🥓)

Its and so we’re doubly celebrating today 🐶🥳🌺

We are partial to a terrier or 2 in the Fur Real household and are celebrating everything terrier 🐶. Here is our Ruby and Rosie enjoying some . Aren’t they just gorgeous 🥰
Both have their own little characters.
Rosie is shy yet loving, loves to play ball and her favourite teddy is her piggy 🐷. She loves nothing more than a tummy rub and checking on her bunnies in the garden 🐰🐰
Ruby is strong yet sensitive and LOVES her food 🍗 The beach is her favourite place by far and loves her sessions with mummy 🌿

💛 It’s the first ever day started by and we are so proud to support this awareness day 💛
Having both anxious-reactive and anxious dogs in the Fur Real household, we know how important it is to give dogs space 💛
The amount of times we have had off lead dogs running up to our on lead dogs and the owners are shouting “it’s ok, he’s friendly” 🤦🏼‍♀️ MY DOG IS NOT! CALL YOUR DOG BACK!.
I wouldn’t run up to a person shouting “ITS OK, IM FRIENDLY” and expect a positive welcome from the person I am running towards.
If you see a please give them space 💛 if your dog is off lead and you see a call your dog back and put them back on a lead 💛

👁 The importance of checking your dogs eyes 👁

September 2019, Ruby was diagnosed with a uveal melanoma in her right eye. Luckily it’s benign 😮‍💨

Over the past 2 and half years, it’s gradually grown but not seemed to cause her any discomfort, so with veterinary advice, we continued to monitor it. Until Feb 2022, we noticed she had a grey shadow like area behind the tumour and part of her eye was starting to cloud 😩. Vet appointment booked 👨‍⚕️.

Ruby has now been referred to an ophthalmologist and we will be going to the specialist a week tomorrow. We’ve been warned she may need her eye removing due to the tumour starting to bulge. In the mean time, she has anti inflammatory drops (not tablets as it’ll set her tummy off 🤦🏼‍♀️)💧.

With her cushings, IBD, pancreatitis, uveal melanoma and now the possibility of her needing her eye removed, she has never complained!
She is a fighter through and through 🥊

Fingers crossed for good news next week 🤞

Little Jingle is fighting for his life 😞
This poor baby is only a few months old and is fighting everyday with the help and support of the while team at The Next Chapter, however they need your help.

Vet bills are stacking up and they are putting out a plea for donations so they are able to continue to care for all the animals at their sanctuary.

I know it is a tough time of year with Christmas just around the corner but any amount of money would be greatly appreciated.
You could either donate directly to their paypal accoiunt (link on the original post), or pay part of their bill directly with the vet (just drop them a message and they will give you the bank details).

Every tiny bit will help this amazing charity pay their bill and continue to care for sick, injured, neglected horses and ponies.

This is so true 😊
Our animals teach us so much. Sometimes things we never knew we needed to learn.
And Bimble is such a precious soul 🐶

Found the perfect gift under the tree earlier. Bimble was snoozing under the Christmas tree.

I can’t believe it will be 6 years in January since we found each other.

I wasn’t looking for another dog, when I found her. I had only just lost my youngest Flatcoat Scarlett in the November and I certainly wasn’t looking for a small white terrier.

Animals come to us for a reason, we don’t usually get what we want, but we always get what we need.

In January 2016 I was selling forever living products at the time and I sold them to a local breeder and when I went around to drop off some aloe I saw a little dog in the most terrible condition sat on a chair, she had no fur, was in pain and generally not in good health.

I offered to help her and the breeder released her to me. Previous to being in the house , she was left outside in kennels. I just scooped her up and took her home with me.

The following morning after she came home we were straight to the vets to tackle her many medical issues, then to the groomer to make her a bit more comfortable, before beginning her healing journey, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

At the time we were very lucky because we had Maddy, our matriarch Flatcoat who also played a massive role in Bimbles recovery. She very much showed her the way and gave her the motherly love she needed.

Three years ago we lost Maddy and Bimble stepped into her role as a healer and a teacher.

She’s taught so many on her journey and seeing her under the tree reminded me what a wonderful gift she truly is, not just to me and my family, but to everyone she meets.

She’s always a willing reiki participant, she supports and watches over our students during training courses and workshops. She also protects our human clients during their healing sessions and she also supports the healing of other animals too.

She has such a beautiful soul. I cannot have imagined what the last 6 years would have been like without this beautiful animal guide at my side.

So just remember the animals in your life are a gift ( especially the more challenging ones) because they have chosen you. They are here to teach you lessons, it may be love, patience, how to do something a better way, how to take care of yourself better. The lessons are endless.

So take the time to look, learn and listen to them always.

Did you know, Antifreeze contains Ethylene Glycol and this is harmful to your dog!

☢️Symptoms of antifreeze poisoning☢️

• Lack of co-ordination
• Excessive drinking and urination
• Vomiting and diarrhea

If you think your dog has ingested antifreeze or shows any of these symptoms, contact your Vet immediately!🐾

These pair 🥰
After a trip to the vet this morning with Ruby, an anti sickness jab and oodles of love later, she seems to have picked up 😮‍💨

2 lots of chicken broth, chicken and whole grain rice have gone down a treat 🤗 Rosie has to have a towel, or in tonights case daddy’s work top, under her bowl as she is a bit of a sloppy eater ☺️.

5 small, low fat, easily digestible, nutritious meals a day to keep their tummy’s in fine working order 🥣🥣🥣🥣🥣
We’ve narrowed some of the no no foods for Ruby which is mainly vegetables (to Ruby’s delight) 🥦🥕🥬🥒

Matt and I are extremely grateful for the care Ruby has had from every vet, nurse and all who have sent well wishes and been to see her during this horrible sickness 😇. We are overwhelmed with the amount of love this little girl has from so many people 🥰.
