COLD WEATHER REMINDER!!!

As the outdoor temperatures start to drop, cats will hide under car hoods for protection and warmth.

Use caution when you start your car in the cold winter months ahead. If cats are left outside, they may climb under the car hood for protection from the cold. Before you climb into your car, slap the hood or open it for a quick look around.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO KEEP YOUR PETS SAFE FROM THE HEAT.

DONT'S

1) DON'T TAKE YOUR PET IN THE CAR UNLESS NECESSARY. IF YOU DO KEEP YOUR AIR-CON ON!
2) REPTILES AND INVERT KEEPERS, TURN YOUR ENCLOSURE OR ROOM HEATING OFF!
3) DO NOT WALK YOUR DOG UNTIL IT IS COOLED DOWN.
4) WHEN ALLOWING YOUR PETS IN THE GARDEN, REGULARLY CHECK THEIR PAWS FOR BURNS.
5) DO NOT PURE COLD WATER OVER YOUR PET, AS THIS CAN PUT THEM INTO SHOCK.

DO'S

1) REGULARLY WIPE A COLD FLANNEL OF YOUR DOGS HEAD TO HELP KEEP THEM COOL.
2) KEEP ICE OR SULFUR ROCK IN WATER TO HELP KEEP YOUR PET COOL. YOU CAN ALSO BUY COOLING PADS.
3) REGULARLY CHECK YOUR DOGS EARS, IT IS A GREAT WAY TO TELL HOW HOT THEY ARE, JUST LIKE WE DO WITH PEOPLE ON THIER FORHEAD.
4) IF YOUR DO STARTS TO REPEATLY VOMIT, SHAKING, LABOURED BREATHING, GET THEM TO A VET THEY COULD HAVE HEAT STROKE.
