This little one gave me a scare today. Well 2 actually! Ronnie is known for his deer hunting prowess! Well today a muntjac ran right across our path and this 10-year old with bilateral hip dysplasia chased straight after it! He ran through an overgrown area and just kept going… he was fine for what seemed like ages and I was just reaching for my phone to check his tracker when he appeared behind us. Limping - well holding up his back right leg. I ran my fingers through his paws to see if something was there but found nothing. So it must be his hips. Right? So as not to place additional stress on his other hip my pal Laura carried him (she’s fitter and younger than me!) I worried about how I was going to afford more physio and hydro and generally berated myself for letting home run off/get out of shape. After a few minutes he began to make a fuss so was out back on the floor and after a while he started walking normally. Fast forward to getting home and he’s chewing all his paws. He’s had them washed twice now in the bath and he’s still at it and acting like he’s got ants in his pants! He must have ran through something that’s really irritated his pads. Thank goodness it’s not his hips!!! It is, however, still driving him crazy!
