Hi everyone, unfortunately it has got to that time that we will have to do a slight price increase, we haven’t increased prices for the last two years but now feel like we have no choice as our suppliers for hay, shavings, disinfectant etc have all increased their prices numerous times.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us the past three years it has been lovely to look after so many beautiful animals and make new friends along the way.

We are keeping the increases as little as possible and they will be between 50p and £2 per day. Please see the full price list from the 1st of October 2024 below.

Guinea pig and rabbit cages and enclosures £7-£10 per day including 1 pet, extra pets charged at £2. Price is dependant on the size of the enclosure.

We do not board rats, snakes, birds, ferrets and some other small animals.

It’s a sad day for us here at Willow Grove, yesterday we lost Buddy the beagle, he was a loving, naughty, mischievous, food stealing boy who gave the best cuddles, we are going to miss him so much and are thankful to him for all the hard times he’s helped us through. We’ve had 12 years of his unconditional love for us and for that we are extremely grateful.
We will miss all his antics and him getting under our feet and waiting for his bit of toast in the morning, the house is never going to be the same rest in peace our gorgeous boy 💙😢🐶

We’ve had another lovely week here at Willow Grove, last week was mostly about the tortoises and this week the bunnies have arrived. Today is dry so they are all out on the grass stretching their legs and having some fresh air and listening to the birds.
Unfortunately we have no space for any more buns over the summer holidays and other spaces are very limited.

Hi everyone, we have been busy with our gorgeous visitors this week and more maintenance around the garden and building new rabbit and guinea pig runs.

We are looking forward to seeing all the returning and new visitors over the summer holidays

Places are now very limited over the summer holidays, availability is good for September and October.

Hi, just to let everyone know, the only space we have if your holiday includes the 9th of August is a space for a hamster or a gecko/bearded dragon or tortoise.
We have no availability for holidays that include the 9th of August for rabbits or guinea pigs.
We have limited spaces before and after the 9th.
Also spaces are limited in July.

We’ve had a quiet week this week and have been getting things ready for the busy summer period.

We have had quite a few tortoise guests and some guineas and bunnies. There is never a dull moment though when you have 19 of your own animals to care for daily xx

National Highway has issued a warning to all customers flying from Manchester Airport throughout June, July & August, to leave extra time for travel after announcing that parts of the M56 between junctions 5 & 6 will be closed during specific dates for resurfacing slip roads as well as replacing road markings and bridge joints.

Hi everyone, we’ve have such a lovely week, the weather has been mostly kind, all the animals have loved getting outside in the garden. We have had lots of bunnies, guineas and tortoises this past week. We have a steady June coming up and then our busiest period of July and August.

Please remember as the weather gets warmer and flies are on the increase to use fly strike prevention on your bunnies and guineas and to keep their environment as clean as possible at all times.

What a lovely week we’ve had, heaters are off and now the air conditioners are on.
All the animals are comfortable and happy, the rabbits have loved being out in the garden.

We have very limited availability for some of the school summer holiday weeks now.

We are looking forward to a busy half term with lots of returning visitors and some new animals to look after and get to know.

We are having a good clean up outside ready for using the outside hutches again.

⚠️⚠️⚠️WARNING RAPESEED! ⚠️⚠️⚠️
It’s that time of year again where farmers fields have blossomed into pretty yellow flowers, these plants are called Rapeseed. Although it may be tempting to place your dog in the mist to take a scenic photo, please avoid this at all costs!
Rapeseed can be dangerous for dogs, especially in highly sensitive canines.

Rapeseed is listed by Dogs Trust as toxic to our dogs if ingested and can cause symptoms such as:
❌ Hemolytic Anemia
❌ Blindness
❌ Damaged Nervous System
❌ Digestive Disorders
❌ Breathing Problems

Even walking through these fields should be avoided! In June 2019, a dog has been reported to suffer from severe open wounds after running through a crop of rapeseed.

Please seek immediate veterinary attention if your dog shows any signs of rapeseed poisoning!

Small Animal Boarding in Ormskirk for Rabbits, Hamsters & Guinea Pigs

Hi everyone, we’ve had a lovely few weeks for the Easter holidays. The sun has come out for a few days which has been lovely for the animals.

Just to let you know, we are fully booked for rabbits on the 2&3rd of August. If your holiday includes those days unfortunately we have no room. We do still have space for guineas and our other small visitors. Other dates in July and August are also limited.

Mr Titch is willing the rain away so he can go outside, hopefully today is the day.
Mr Titch was adopted from Carla Lane Animals in Need Liverpool he isn’t a cuddly bunny and has his own ways, he wouldn’t be a bunny for everyone. He does have the most beautiful face, he’s full of character and mischief and luckily his owners could see that and gave him a home.
The advantage to adoption is knowing the character and traits of an animal before you welcome them into your home, I know it’s not always easy to adopt and that’s why we can head to the nearest pet shop, but wherever possible if you can give an animal a second chance at happiness they will be forever grateful.

Happy Easter everyone, hope you all have a lovely break and it’s been lovely to see some sunshine ☀️
We have lots of lovely rabbits 🐇 and guinea pigs staying with us over the holidays, plus a bearded dragon a gecko 🦎 and a couple of tortoises 🐢

It’s so lovely for us to spend time with your animals and find out their personalities and likes and dislikes. The weather has been kind this weekend and the animals have been able to get some time in the garden 🪴

Next week we are welcoming a new member to our Willow Grove family and we are very excited, baby news coming soon (not of the human variety lol 😂)

Hi everyone, we’ve had a lovely week with some gorgeous bunnies and guinea pigs.
The weather has been hit and miss as usual but we have managed some grass time for the outdoor buns.

Our collection for the 11 rabbits is going really well also, if you would like to contribute anything it would be a huge help, thank you so much to everyone who has already donated to them.

Places for summer are limited now for bunnies, we still have space for guineas and other small animals.

The donations for the bunnies I posted about are growing nicely, thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far. I’m hoping to collect a bit more between now and Easter and then pass everything over for the bunnies to enjoy. All the donations will go a long way in helping out the couple who have selflessly helped these rabbits and offered them a permanent home 🏠 🐇💙💕🐰

Hi everyone.
This is a different post to normal. Last year I had a lovely couple board their two rabbits with us. In less than a year they are now looking after 11 rabbits, the majority of them have been rescued from the streets and have not been claimed.
I know it’s really difficult for everyone at the moment with the cost of living and some people feel they have no choice, but there is no excuse for letting an animal loose, where it could be injured or killed.
This lovely couple have spent thousands on cages , runs, equipment, food and bedding and not to mention vet bills which have been high.

I would like to collect some food and hay to help them out, and if anyone would like to contribute that would be an amazing help and very much appreciated. The buns are on Burgess Excel mint rabbit food and any quality hay would be great.
I can collect any donations or you’re welcome to drop them off to me.

I and them would appreciate any help for these bunnies. Thank you so much for reading.

Hi everyone we’ve had a lovely week with two returning bunny visitors, some returning Guinea visitors and six New Guinea pig visitors and last but not least the gorgeous Dixie the hamster who just loves to wheel the night away.

We are getting quite full up now for the summer some weeks have limited availability. If you have your summer holiday dates please get in touch.

We have a few visits over the weekend for pawrents to check out our boarding spaces and make sure it is suitable for their lovely pets, some for guineas and some for rabbits.
