Social skills in training 😀🐾
I would like to share this little moment with you all. A little inside to what's going on in some classes.🙂😜
Here are two different dogs "before" & "after"
Please know this is "not" the first time for them all to practise this so very important social skill, to be able to greet and or to have a chat with someone you meet on a walk with your four legged companion.
Every dog has his own threshold and every dog/ owner team have their own threshold, insecurities and strenghts, it's all depending on the experience, good or bad or lack of experience etc..it all contributes!
Little inside:
In one of yesterday's sessions.
The first team, thrived on a little more verbal and yummy reward based reinforcement. Well done👌👏🐾.
2nd team, thrived on slower steps , further distance, no handshake, slightly sideways approach, just a chat, mum's reinsurance plus some healthy respectful boundary guidance and verbal and food reinforcement.
It was a huge step forward for him to learn to deal with a "stranger danger situation " with someone completely new approaching. Up to now, I have been the one approaching and handshaking/ greeting with his mum or dad, which he has done so well and progressed nicely, he has come a long way 😀
Now, it was time for someone he doesn't know to approach.

Good things take time 🙂❤️ and are so rewarding for the owner and dog 🐾❤️
