‼️Urgent Foster Adopter Needed for Loki‼️

Loki is a much-loved little dog who is sadly in need of a new place to land, and quickly. He’s currently with his long-term foster, but due to a serious decline in their health, they can no longer meet Loki’s needs.

We are urgently looking for a foster adopter — someone who can offer Loki a safe, loving space while we work towards finding him a permanent home. Or even better, someone who can offer both.

A Bit About Loki:
* He’s 5 years old, part Chihuahua, and full-time companion.
* Friendly, affectionate, and a proper little character.
* He loves being close to his people and struggles with being left alone.
* Loki knows his basic commands, travels well, and is a star at the groomers.
* He will make a wonderful companion in the right home.

We’re ideally looking for someone who is home most of the time and can give Loki the calm, consistent care he needs. He’ll stick close to you, offer endless love, and may even follow you to the bathroom. Privacy is optional with Loki.

This is an urgent situation and we need to find him a safe and supportive space as soon as possible.
If you think you could offer Loki the care he needs, whether short-term or long-term, please get in touch with Salt’s Helping Hounds Rescue using the link below:

Please share to help us find Loki the secure and loving home he deserves. ❤️🐾

Watch Norm now… and then remember how he arrived at Obi’s. Fear reactive and unable to be handled. Obi couldn’t get him out of his crate (thank the Lord), and when he arrived at Abbey Boarding Kennels, he was still terrified and defensive.

But with time, patience, and the right kind of support, just look at him now.

And the young woman working with him? She’s only 22 years old. Let that sink in.

To those saying “another rescue using a sob story and adding payment details at the end,” this is where the money goes. This is real rehabilitation. This is what sets us apart.

There is no quick fix for traumatised dogs. It takes time. It takes energy. It takes commitment. And yes, it takes money. You have to be in it for the long haul.

We are so proud of Norm. So proud of Holly. And proud to work alongside Abbey Boarding Kennels, where dogs like Norm are given every chance to recover and thrive.

It’s a tough time in rescue right now, and we’re not blind to that. But we still choose to celebrate the dogs. To find the joy. To be the light in the dark.

Norm, you incredible lad. You’re not just surviving. You’re finally getting to live.

Norm (was Storm) - The One That Got Away From Obi

Norm’s story could have ended very differently. He was failed more than once. First by the man who claimed he was offering a rescue space, most critically, he was dumped in a pound by Obi and thank goodness he was. Because that failure gave Norm a second chance. Then he was failed by those who promised to support him and who have quietly disappeared.

But Norm isn’t forgotten. He’s thriving. And that’s because of the people who didn’t walk away.

Ellie and her incredible team at Abbey Boarding Kennels have given Norm not just a safe space, but a real chance. Rehabilitating a dog like Norm is not just about giving him a bed and a bowl. It is long, emotional work that takes time, patience, and full-on commitment. It means early mornings, late nights, setbacks and small victories. It means learning his fears, meeting him where he is, and celebrating every step forward. Ellie’s team do this every single day. They live this work. And thanks to them, Norm is starting to believe in people again.

Behind the scenes, our small but mighty team keeps things going. Rose and Stephanie work tirelessly on fundraising. They do more than keep the lights on. They keep hope alive. Alison is our paperwork queen, making sure everything is logged, prepped, and in perfect order. And then there’s Jayne. She’s not officially on the team, but she might as well be. She is always there with advice, support, and an extra pair of very capable hands and added sarcasm.

To everyone who donates, shares our posts, takes part in our fundraising, and leaves kind words, thank you. It really does matter. Your support is felt every single day. It keeps us going. It keeps dogs like Norm safe.

We are not here to focus on those who failed him. Norm deserves better than that. He deserves a soft sofa, a safe forever home, and a future full of love. That is where our focus is now.

🌟 Mabel’s Milestone Moment 🌟

We’ve got the happiest kind of update to share about our girl Mabel. The kind that makes you beam from ear to ear and maybe even tear up a little. Because Mabel? She’s thriving.

After months of uncertainty, setbacks, and specialist care, Mabel now weighs a solid 36.5kg. That’s right. Our once-fragile girl is filling out, getting stronger every day, and finally looking like the young dog she was always meant to be.

Her back legs, once so wobbly we worried she’d never find her feet, are now steadier with each step. Her appetite is fantastic. Her sparkle is back. And most importantly, the bacterial infection that nearly claimed her life is gone.

Mabel is leaping forward, both figuratively and sometimes literally. And we can’t thank you enough for the role you played in getting her here. To everyone who sent gifts, kind words, or shared her story, your love and generosity wrapped around her like a warm blanket. You reminded her (and us) that she matters.

🧸 Her toy collection is growing by the day. She loves them all and she’s starting to truly play. If you’ve followed Mabel’s journey, you’ll know this is a huge step forward.

💜 So what’s next?

Now that Mabel is making amazing progress, it’s time to help her take the next step: finding a foster home. She’s ready. She’s earned it. And we know the right home is out there.

👉 Mabel needs:

*To be an only dog
*A foster with large breed experience
*A quiet, stable home that can support her ongoing recovery
*Access to transport, as she may need future vet visits, physiotherapy, or hydrotherapy
*Someone who understands she can’t walk far but would benefit from occasional access to an off-lead space where she can stretch her legs safely
*Patience, structure and guidance because Mabel is very much still in her puppy phase. She had no input in those critical early months, and now she needs help learning how to make good choices
*Close supervision in unfamiliar settings. She’ll happily bound into traffic or straight into the unknown without realising the danger
*A meet and greet if there are men in the home. Mabel is very wary around new men and needs time and gentle introductions
*She’s sweet, silly, and eager to learn. Every day she builds a little more confidence, and it’s clear she’s got so much love to give.

Please help us find her that perfect soft landing. Share her story, spread the word, or simply keep cheering her on from wherever you are.

🌈 Sophie – Loved Always, Missed Forever🕊️ 01.05.2025

Sophie was a Salt’s dog. One of the best. The kind of dog who doesn’t just enter your life, she marches into your kitchen like she’s been invited to a dinner party and is just checking what’s on the menu.

She arrived on a quiet Sunday, full of beans and charm, and Jo Poole fell in love the second she looked at her. At nine years old, Sophie had absolutely no plans of slowing down. She settled in quicker than you can say “foster fail” and never looked back.

The rescue said “Two weeks, maybe three.” Sophie laughed in the face of that idea and immediately made herself at home, especially once she and Rob became inseparable. She slotted in like she’d always been there, perfectly house-trained, never destructive, and happiest when planted right between them getting tickles from both sides.

Her first trip to the beach was unforgettable. She had clearly never seen the sea before and stuck close to Rob at first. That didn’t last long. Once she got a taste for the sand and sea breeze, she was off like a shot. No recall. None. Watching Jo and Rob leg it after her across the beach could have won awards for comedy if someone had added the Benny Hill theme.

She loved sausages, chicken, custard, yoghurt, and her people. Jo would sit beside her, nose to nose, and whisper “What’s Momma gotta have?” Sophie’s answer was always a gentle lick to the nose.Evenings were for cuddles and TV, and late-night snacks were absolutely a thing.

Bedtime came with snoring that could rival a chainsaw. She snored like a docker, but it was one of the many things that made her so completely, perfectly Sophie.

Sophie was a regular at the park, the kind of dog who made friends with everyone. Human or hound, if they crossed her path, they were getting a tail wag and a sniff.

After five glorious years, illness caught up with her, and Jo and Rob had to make the hardest but kindest decision. They let her go with love, and a piece of their hearts went with her.

Sophie was beautiful, silly, snuggly, and utterly adored.

Once a Salt’s dog. Always one of our own. Sleep tight, Sophie girl.

To Jo and Rob, thank you for opening your hearts and giving Sophie the forever home she truly deserved. As a team, we wrap our arms around you with love and comfort. The pain of loss cuts deep, we know that all too well, but we hope you can find comfort in all that you gave her and the memories you made together as a family. You are, and always will be, part of the Salt’s family 💜

🌸🐣 Hoppy Easter from Norm – The Brave Bunny-Hopper Ready for His Forever Home! 🐾

While most pups are sniffing out chocolate eggs this Easter, Norm’s sniffing out something far more special—a family to call his own!
Once known as Storm, this gorgeous boy has weathered more storms than any pup ever should. But thanks to a basketful of kind hearts (and one particularly magical rescue), Norm has landed with Salt’s Helping Hounds, where his future is now as bright as a spring morning.
🐰 From Storm Clouds to Spring SunshineNorm’s story began with heartbreak when his previous owner could no longer care for him. What followed was a confusing and scary time, with lots of uncertainty and some real letdowns. But here’s the twist—just when it seemed like all hope was lost, a team of absolute angels at Abbey Boarding Kennels hopped into action (Easter pun fully intended). They saw Norm for who he really is: not broken, just badly misunderstood.
Under their gentle guidance and Salt’s Helping Hounds' unwavering Rescue Back-Up, Norm began to bloom like the daffodils in April.
🥚 Meet the Real Norm – Part Chocolate Bunny, Part Zooming TornadoThese days, Norm is living his best life in rehab kennels—fluffy tail high, zoomies galore, and an appetite worthy of an Easter brunch buffet. He loves bum scratches (seriously, he might trade his squeaky toy for one), thinks mealtimes are sacred (and not to be delayed under any circumstances), and has a beautiful way of winning hearts with every wiggly greeting.
He’s gaining confidence by the day and proving that all he needed was a safe space and people who get him.
🌷 Norm’s Dream Easter Egg Hunt? A Forever Home!This hunk of a hound is ready to hop into his next chapter, and he’s got a few simple requests on his wishlist:
✨ A home with breed-savvy humans who understand his big heart and bigger personality✨ No other pets (Norm likes his humans all to himself, thank you!)✨ Older, dog-experienced kids only—no toddlers tripping over his ears, please!✨ Someone who can embrace his diva tendencies (especially around dinner time… he’s a vocal little prince when food is involved)
He’s currently eating six small meals a day to maintain his weight in kennels, and yes, he will remind you if you’re late with the snacks.
🌸 Can’t Adopt? Be Norm’s Springtime Hero!Norm’s care is currently funded by the brilliant team at Tuks Law, but they could use a little help to keep the Easter magic going. Donations big or small help keep his belly full and his journey on track.

💛 Share his story, spread the word, or maybe—just maybe—open your heart and home to this beautiful boy. Norm is proof that a new season can bring new beginnings, and he’s ready to bounce his way into your life, paws first.

🌷🥚🐰 GROOT’S EGG-STRA SPECIAL FOREVER HOME HUNT IS ON! 🐰🥚🌷

Have you heard? The Big Man has shed his surplus fluff and found his waistline—and just in time for Easter! While the rest of us are shoving chocolate eggs into our faces with wild abandon, Groot is out here slimmed down, strutting his stuff like the cover star of “Dogue.”

And now he’s on the hunt—not for bunnies, not for eggs (though he wouldn’t say no)—but for his very own forever home. 💛

This 52kg bundle of joy (and questionable decision-making) is still baffled by the concept of "fetch." To Groot, the ball goes one way only. You want it back? Better bring snacks. Or a trade deal. Possibly a treaty.

🎾 Groot’s Passions Include:

Zoomies that could power a small village
Unaliving stuffies with professional precision
Pretending he’s a lapdog despite being built like a furry tank
Dramatic greetings that should come with a crash mat and possibly a helmet
He’s a clever boy who loves to learn and thrives on structure—he's not just a handsome face, he's got brains too (even if sometimes he uses them to open cupboard doors that absolutely should have been locked).

Walkies? He’s got the moves thanks to his Dogmatic headcollar, which is basically his super suit—it helps keep his excitement in check and makes strolls a dream (ish). His new family will need to keep up the training, but don’t worry—Groot is always ready to show off his sit-stay-spin-jump-curtsy combo for treats and praise.

He’s still a bit cautious of the unknown, so he’ll need a calm, confident human who can show him the world isn’t all hoovers and cucumbers. And when it comes to new people? Groot believes in maximum enthusiasm, minimum brakes. Meeting him is less of a handshake, more of a flying bear hug with bonus drool. So yes, you’ve been warned—but also, he’s VERY good at cuddles.

🥕 Spring Shape-Up Success! We’re happy to report Groot has dropped the winter fluff and is rocking a leaner, keener figure (don’t mention the treats he may have scammed during his journey). His forever family will just need to keep an eye on his waistline—because Groot still believes food should come in unlimited refills.

✨ Groot comes with lifelong rescue back-up from Salt’s Helping Hounds, meaning his new family will always have support on hand—like a superhero team, but with more fur and fewer capes.

Could Groot’s next chapter be with you? Could your home be the one where this big-hearted goofball finally gets his hoppily ever after?

Apply here to give Groot the forever love he deserves:

🐾💖 A special thanks to Save Our Seized Dogs – Putting BSL to Sleep UK, who are funding Groot’s rehab, but they could use your help too! Every pound makes a difference (especially if Groot thinks it’s going toward treats):

Let’s make this Easter one to remember for Groot. He’s ready to find his basket of joy—and he promises not to eat the decorative eggs. (Probably.)

🌸🐾 Somebunny’s Ready to Work for Your Love… Meet Sage! 🐾🌸

Looking for a dog with brains, bounce, and a serious can-do attitude? Meet Sage—a tall drink of water with a heart as big as his paws and a work ethic that puts the Easter Bunny to shame. 🐰
This lad isn’t here for lazy lounging and aimless sniffing—Sage is a “give me a job, and I’ll smash it” kind of guy. He thrives with structure, direction, and a good challenge (preferably one with snacks at the end).
🌟 From Chaos to Focus – A True Transformation Tale: Life didn’t start out all hot cross buns and belly rubs for Sage. Let’s just say his early choices were more “bad boy romcom montage” than “good boy award-winner.” But thanks to his incredible team at Salt’s Helping Hounds and some top-tier rehab support, Sage has flipped the script.
Gone are the days of impulsive mischief and questionable decisions. Now? He’s focused, driven, and determined. He’s ready to keep learning and growing—with the right person guiding him.
🐣 The Deets You Need:
* Age: 2 years
* Breed: Crossbreed
* Neutered: Yes
* Pets: Best as your one-and-only
* Kids: Dog-savvy teens (16+)
* Energy: High drive, loves structure
* Hobbies: Training, learning, working for rewards, posing dramatically in fields
🐾 Sage in a Nutshell (or Easter Egg):
* Busy Bee Energy: Sage loves having a purpose. Free-for-alls? No thanks. Give him a task, set some clear expectations, and he’ll rise to the occasion—every single time.
* Training Machine: With guidance and positive reinforcement, he absorbs skills like a sponge (the really smart kind, not the one under the sink).
* Devoted and Driven: He’s loyal to the core and needs someone who’s just as committed as he is.
* Still a Bit of a Goof: Yes, he once stole a coat. No regrets. But now he’s redirecting that enthusiasm into becoming an absolute superstar.
🎉 His Team = His Heroes: Sage wouldn’t be the dog he is today without his amazing rehab crew and his fabulous fan club, Sage’s Salty Saviours. They believed in him when he was just a scruffy blur of chaos and have helped shape him into the focused, fabulous boy you see today.
💛 Looking for His Perfect Match: Sage needs someone who:
* Thrives on structure and consistency (just like he does).
* Loves a dog who needs a job to be truly happy.
* Understands that progress comes with patience—and a whole lot of praise.
📬 Apply to Adopt:If you're the kind of person who sees the value in a dog that wants to work with you, not just hang around while you do the work—Sage could be your soulmate.

💸 Want to Help Him on His Journey?
* Bank: HSBC
* Sort Code: 40-41-59
* Account Number: 80003166
* PayPal: [email protected]

Let’s find this boy a forever home that matches his passion, purpose, and potential. Because Sage isn’t just ready to settle down—he’s ready to shine. 🌟

So if you're after a handsome lad who’s more “career-driven canine” than “casual couch potato,” Sage might just be your paw-fect project. Adopt him now… or risk being haunted by the one that got away and stole your coat and your heart. 💘🐾
