4 years ago we rescued a mommy cat and her kittens from a really dangerous rock cliff location- and the most amazing foster mom Lizelle stepped up and took them ALL into her home 🥰🥰

Now we struggle to find a foster for 1 cat - how times have changed

Of the cats in the photo the mom, Phoebe and the two whiter coloured girls all were adopted in the UK. The calico kittens Amila & Jamila were adopted by Lizelle the foster mom. We can’t do our work without fosters so we’re so grateful to them

Gizmo is home from the vet. We collected Mae last night and Gizmo came along. He decided to 💩 & 🤮 in the carrier on the way home (we think it was just bad timing to travel with him he’s most likely just had dinner) and so when we reached home he needed a bath.

He was such a trooper getting washed and quite frankly needed a bath badly so just as well. After a good drying session we placed him in his own condo in the study where he’s sharing with Missy ( her foster returns on 12 Aug from holidays)

He’s an incredibly friendly guy who just wants to explore and walk around and get rubs and a fuss

Gizmo was hit by a car - lost one eye and is blind in the other, had had multiple jaw surgeries and is a miracle cat to be alive today

Our girl Mandy has been through so much and yet shes a sweetheart

She was rescued not far from our apartment just over a year ago and it was clear she’d been run over by a car

She was dragging her legs and in pain

She had surgery in her hip and we nursed her back to health. It took about 2 months of therapy for her to walk again. Now she runs and walks and jumps to certain heights ok. But she’s a little skittish from what happened to her.

Once she trusts you though you can rub her head and back and she actually loves the fuss esp to greet you when you come home from work

She loves company and she also has a love to cartoons on the TV

We hope there is someone out there who can give her all the love she deserves - she’s a sweet girl who just needs patience and love ❤️

Candy was rescued as a kitten in Sept ‘23 from an abandoned warehousing location. She was poorly nourished and had a severe infection in her jaw.

Candy required 2 surgeries to remove the necrotic flesh and bone from her jaw. Her left eye had also been hurt which has left her left eye partially sighted.

She’s also had surgery to remove eyelashes that were facing inwards into her eyelids which were causing her discomfort.

From a young age we realized that she is petrified of other cats and her injuries are likely from being attacked by an adult cat, and is therefore not suited to a household with other cats. Candy also had difficulty in the beginning socializing with people. While she loves playing with feather toys and hide and seek, she can become frustrated quickly which results in rough play with people.

An animal behavioral specialist did a thorough evaluation on Candy and she has been put on medication to help temper her mood.

After months of treatment Candy has become less hyperactive but because we live in an apartment with other rescues, she is still often frustrated and desperately needs to be outdoors to run around and explore.

Candy needs a special home, an understanding adopter. Some place without other cats and access to outdoors, but a warm loving indoors home where she can sleep and be loved. She would love living on a farm or have access to the woods to get outside, do cat things and get rid of her frustrations. Her adopter may need to continue with her medication for a while but she takes her meds like champ. She’s a special girl looking for a special mom or dad.

Like a lot of Arabian Maus she loves water, she even gets into the shower with me some days and she loves playing fetch.

Bon Voyage Captain!! Happy adoption day for you as you take your flight straight into Glasgow to join Tipsy in your new life

Mom Becca has adopted twice from us before - this is her third cat and we can’t be more excited for Captain to meet Tipsy - the friendliest guy ever - and have some playtime once they are acquainted.

Captain was rescued earlier this year in front of Gate Towers looking very worse for wear - he had flu and wasn’t eating - but now that’s all in the past

Update on Bella from Split Croatia - the message we received from the amazing vet -
‘HI!
We did the stomatology, take out & of her teeth, they were in very bad condition © Bella was already sterilised but we coludnt know that because she didint have mark on her ear, so we had to open her... We cleand her ears and put drops, we also put the ampula for flease and ticks. She was full of fleas!
Bella we do hope you’ll immediately start to feel better now that your rotten teeth are removed. You poor little girl

We are currently in Croatia 🇭🇷 on holiday

We saw many street cats in Split - and clearly someone is feeding them and some are neutered but one girl was suffering so much that she couldn’t eat

Wayne found a pet shop, we bought a carrier - we picked her up and took her to a vet. Not as easy as we have in the UAE we had to do a two stop before we found one that would help us and have space to keep her to recover.

She had major dental infections and ear mites - she was given an antibiotic and pain killer and the vet will operate today - and she’ll stay the week with them to recover.

We’ve named her Bella - she lives in a small court yard under a tree which is marked Cat Cloud on Google maps in Split - with her friends. They’ve got small cat houses and get fed.

She’ll be vaccinated and spayed before she’s returned to her home

We want to thank the vet Pilic in Split who was willing to assist us. We had to leave the next day but couldn’t leave her suffering.

As cat rescuers ourselves we tried to contact local rescue groups but the ones who did reply to us said they are overwhelmed and struggling mentally to cope - and this we all too fully understand as one of the reasons I needed a holiday was to get away from the rescue work we do in Abu Dhabi
