And last, but by no means at all least we have Misty and Oreo. 🍪

This beautiful pair are 4 (Misty) and 6 (Oreo) years old. Both have been fixed.

Misty likes the comforts of somewhere warm inside when it’s cold 🥶

Oreo is quite the fan of her food however can be picky but for some reason loves to hunt!

Their current owner believes that they would be happy to sit near or snuggle up to someone once comfortable given time. As they are not feral but not really the most “peopley” of cats going.

Both girls have had access to the outdoors for their entire lives and this will have to continue so a rural home is essential.

This is a ‘home to home’ adoption, which means there is NO adoption fee for this gorgeous boy, however a donation to Orkney Cats would be much appreciated! 🥰

If you think you can give this pair a suitable, loving, home as per the requirements detailed above, please DO NOT send us private messages, but simply fill in this form: https://bit.ly/2WsafAF

Your form submission will be sent to the foster carer for review. They will then decide if you are a good match. If you don't get a response, that means that unfortunately your application was unsuccessful on this occasion. We get a lot of applications and are limited on volunteer time, so please bear this in mind. 😊

Please note further terms on our application form and if you rent a property, we will need a landlord permission letter stating clearly that you are allowed to have pets. 🏡
Thank you for your continued support! 🐾

🐱👀🏡

These two little ladies don’t have names! So we’ll go with Thing 1 and Thing 2.

An elderly couple took on this pair after moving into a new home and they were lurking nearby.

Their age is undetermined but they have however been spayed.

They are (or at least have been) outdoor cats and have access to a shed for shelter as they are semi-feral.

Would make perfect mousers, assuming they like to hunt🐁

This is a ‘home to home’ adoption, which means there is NO adoption fee for this gorgeous boy, however a donation to Orkney Cats would be much appreciated! 🥰

Here we have Noisy Norman (picture 1 - tabby), Black Jack (picture 1 - black) and Norris (picture 2- tabby)👴🏻

They are each for adoption separately however could be adopted as a part of a pair or as a trio!

Each of them estimated to be around 4-5 months old. They have already been desexed and microchipped. They are also up to date with their flea and worm treatment💪🏻

They are all are quite shy and would be better suited to a home with no young children. They are however ok with dogs. If they are to be let outside It is essential that they are kept well away from a busy road. 🚗

If you think you can give any of our animals their forever home, please complete an application form: https://bit.ly/2WsafAF

Once you have submitted your information by filling out the form in the link above, this will be forwarded to their fosterer for review, they alone (or with the help of our welfare team) will then decide if you are a good match for this pair.

Unfortunately, if you do not get a response, that means that your application was unsuccessful. We receive a lot of applications for the animals under our care and are limited on volunteer time, therefore we cannot reply to everyone. Please bear this in mind.

Successful applicants will get 5 weeks free pet insurance when you adopt one of our animals. An adoption fee of £40 per cat/kitten applies.

Please note applicants residing within rental properties are required to provide Orkney Cats with proof of permission of pets.
Your support and shares are always welcomed.
Thank you! 🐾

Home to Home Long term foster - possible adoption.

New postcode required🏡

This absolutely gorgeous little lady is Bella.

Bella is 3 years old, de-sexed, chipped and has all innoculations up to date.

Due to unforseen circumstances her family are having to return to New Zealand. They are looking for a 6 month long term foster, and depending on how Bella were to take the idea of transport, potential adoption permanently.

Bella is a very friendly, but not a cuddly cat. She'll sit next to her person, but doesn't like to be picked up. She'll jump up for treats, and will play endlessly with toys. She is an INDOOR ONLY cat, this is only because we live next to a fast road. She may enjoy a more rural setting. With gradual introduction to the great outdoors.

Her current owners have agreed to continue to pay her insurance and any vet bills, yearly jabs etc. They do not think she'd like children, but she has had holidays with other cats and got on well, even with a dog.

This is a ‘home to home’ adoption, which means there is NO adoption fee for this little lady, however a donation to Orkney Cats would be much appreciated! 🥰

If you think you can give Bella a suitable, loving, home as per the requirements detailed above, please DO NOT send us private messages, but simply fill in this form: https://bit.ly/2WsafAF

Hello to all from OC HQ.

Sadly, due to some recent interactions with the general public I feel there are some issues needing to be addressed and cleared up.

1. We are an entirely volunteer lead organisation, many of us - including myself, work full time jobs and then run Orkney Cats on the side. If you are looking for our help, please work with us and not against us for support. There has to be a little give and take when it comes to assisting with feral/stray/domestic cats so your patience is required whilst we try our best to help where we can.

2. Please do not contact volunteers directly unless you’re absolutely certain they are still volunteers, we have some who are involved and are currently unwell, or some who may have done previously but now are now no longer involved. To save any further trouble, please contact us directly via Facebook or send us an email at [email protected]

3. With regard to adopting cats and/or kittens in our care, we are usually bombarded with applications for the animals in our care and it is very difficult for us to contact each person who has applied. This is why, although we understand it is not ideal, we ask that you reapply whenever there is an animal in our care you wish to adopt. This means the details we have on file are up to date, as well as helping us because we are aware of the fact that you are still interested in offering a home.

4. If you have the concern of the welfare or health of an animal, please contact the SSPCA as this is not something we are able to help with.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this message, we really do appreciate it.

Kindest regards,

Team OC🐱

Do you recognise this cat?

A very kind individual has gotten in contact with us due to their concern about the welfare of this (assumed) handsome gentleman. It looks as though they have been fixed as a right ear tip is visible, but as is the extreme infestation of fleas and from the amount they are eating - worms too.

They are totally unworried about dogs, and seem relatively friendly as the individual has been managing to get closer and closer as each day passes.

We are yet to get close enough to check for a chip, but they do not have a collar on. Bones are visible from the outside due to age or potential malnourishment.

In Sandwick, Bryameadow Road area.

Any information is appreciated 🐱

Meet the beautiful ‘Thomas’.
We are unsure how old Thomas is however we know he is neutered, microchipped and up to date with his flea
& worm treatment 💪🏻
It is essential that Thomas has a new home well away from any busy roads as this is what he is used to, he needs safe access to the outdoors after a settling-in period (to be discussed) but he loves to be inside overnight.🌙
He is good with children who have been taught to respect pets.
This is a ‘home to home’ adoption, which means there is NO adoption fee for this gorgeous boy, however a donation to Orkney Cats would be much appreciated! 🥰
If you think you can give this wonderful gent a suitable, loving, home as per the requirements detailed above, please DO NOT send us private messages, but simply fill in this form: https://bit.ly/2WsafAF
