Wendy and Winston recently completed 10 weeks of One-to-One training with me, and the progress has been incredible. Wendy now has the knowledge, tools, and confidence to continue supporting Winston through his reactivity journey.
Winstonās reactivity stems from a strong natural herding and stalking instinctāheās a true working dog at heart. When we first started, he was hyper-alert on walks, completely focused on his environment and disconnected from his handler. Now? He walks on a loose lead, checks in regularly, and is responding beautifully to cues.
We introduced structured games to give him a healthy outletālots of impulse control and stalking-style games that channeled his instincts in a positive way. From there, we layered in engage/disengage work, focus-building exercises, and mindset-shifting games around triggers.
On our final session together, Winston passed two cockapoos calmly and confidentlyāsuch a proud moment!
This kind of progress doesnāt happen overnight. Living with and supporting a reactive dog takes patience, consistency, and love. But the rewards? Absolutely worth itāfor both dog and human.
Well done both, itās been such an honour to be apart of your journey!š„¹
