If anyone is local to Farnborough please keep an eye out for Peggy. If spotted, don’t try to catch her but report the sighting to the contact number.

‼️PLEASE SHARE, SHARE, SHARE ‼️

PEGGY, an EXTREMELY NERVOUS rescue dog, escaped from her rescue in North Ascot on 6th September 2025. She has since been sighted multiple times roaming/running around Farnborough but she is RUNNING FROM PEOPLE.

PEGGY is NOT to be approached - she will bolt which puts her in immediate danger from roads/rails - she needs to calm and settle to be safely trapped.

Trapping is completely humane, but relies on the dog being calm enough to feed WITHOUT ANY human interference - so far, Peggy has been disturbed by well meaning people every time she has been near to the trap (not surprising in an urban/residential area but frustrating) 😭 Calling her, whistling her, even just close eye contact is likely to move her on - and then, the whole process has to restart 😭

Peggy is a clever girl and will keep herself safe if left to do so. She does not naturally want to run down busy roads/cross rail tracks etc - let her 'do what she's doing' and MESSAGE US 🙏

IF YOU SEE HER, LEAVE HER BE and note the following and call/message us asap:
📆 DATE
⏰ TIME (exact time if possible or AM/PM)
📍 LOCATION (pinpoint on map)
🧭DIRECTION HEADED (nearest landmark)
🐕BEHAVIOUR (walking, running, nervous, calm, sniffing, did they stay in the area? How long?)
📸GET A PHOTO (for ID) if you possibly can

PLEASE SHARE THIS POST WIDELY ACROSS FARNBOROUGH TO ASCOT/FLEET and ALL surrounding areas

HELP US TO HELP PEGGY 🙏

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴

Teaching your dog a solid recall is one of the most important skills you can train.

If your dog is food-motivated one of the most effective ways to build a reliable recall is by using high-value rewards—something your dog finds truly irresistible. This might be pieces of cooked chicken, cheese, or a favourite soft treat that’s just kept for recall training.

🔑 Why it matters:
When we ask our dogs to return to us—especially in environments full of distractions—we’re asking them to turn away from something exciting. To make that choice easy for them, the reward we offer needs to be really good.

✅ Training tip:
Use high-value treats every single time your dog comes to you during early recall training. Be generous with your praise and rewards—this is how we build a recall that your dog won’t second-guess.

If you’ve been to one of my classes before you know I love to use JR Pure Pate as a recall reward. It’s easy to use, there are no hidden nasties in the ingredients and the dogs love it! It can also be frozen so if you don’t use it all just pop it in the freezer!

If you have questions about building a reliable recall or choosing the right rewards for your dog, feel free to get in touch

Really useful advice here from Spaniel Aid particularly if you have a noise sensitive dog 🐶

On Sunday 7 September, the UK Government will be testing the Emergency Alert system at 3pm. All compatible mobile phones / tablets across the UK will make a loud siren-like sound and vibrate for around 10 seconds. Phones on silent will still sound the alert.

Dogs’ hearing is more sensitive than ours. If your dog is reactive to noise, startles easily or is anxious, here are some things to consider before the test:

- Walk them in advance of the test so they are more relaxed by 3pm. Return home in good time to a safe and comforting environment

- Keep your dog and phone in separate rooms and put the TV or radio on for background noise. Give your dog something to engage their brain such as a lick mat or long lasting non-rawhide chew. Provide reassurance if they need it

- If you are in a public space, keep your dog on the lead. Multiple phones could sound the alert from any direction, which could be disorientating, and initiate their fight or flight response. Others may also take their dog to the same “quiet spot” so be mindful that other dogs in the space may react differently from yours

- If disabling the alert is the best action for your circumstances, find out more from the UK Government: https://www.gov.uk/alerts/opting-out

On my visit to Wellington Horse Trials at the weekend I stopped off at the stand and he took this amazing picture of my Luna. I am so so pleased with how it came out! If you’re ever you’re looking for a dog photographer I can highly recommend Ronan!

🐾 Happy International Dog Day! 🐾

Today, we’re celebrating the incredible dogs who bring so much joy, loyalty, and love into our lives.

Here are my two: Luna, my 9-year-old black Lab, and Leven, my 4-year-old springer spaniel. They’ve taught me so much and continue to remind me why I love what I do.

To all the amazing dogs I’ve worked with (and their humans) — thank you!
