Today is World Rainforest Day!

Rainforests help to regulate our climate and we use their resources for food, wood and medicines. Rainforests are disappearing at an alarming rate, so today is a great time to reflect on what actions can be taken as individuals to protect them!

The way we shop is crucial, but luckily there are increasingly more shops and brands who are highlighting their practices to make it easier for us to see the impact of the items we buy (and this is no different in the products we buy for our dogs!).

✅ Look for ‘sustainably sourced’ materials and ingredients
✅Responsibly sourced and recycled items can also help to curb deforestation
✅ Remember to reuse, repurpose and recycle used items!

We are firm believers that small changes can make a difference!

It’s National Selfie Day so I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to introduce myself to any new followers!

I’m Lauren and I run Our Northern Hound with my husband, Alex. We went live with our website in April and we have been having an amazing time handpicking some amazing brands and products along with developing our own products (we sometimes offer some sneak peeks of these in our stories!). We aim to bring great quality items that we can recommend for your dogs!

Great for puppies!

We absolutely love the pup’s first fetch and tug! Made in the UK from 100% unbleached cotton (we made an audible “awwww” when these arrived!).

Treats can also be tricky to get for young pups - luckily for us these Green and Wilds treats are suitable for puppies and dogs over 2 months!

We think these items should be on any new puppy owner’s list!

Feel Good Friday!

Today we’re asking, what brings you that spark of joy?

This morning I took our dog for our morning walk. We love starting the day in nature and it’s great that Sheffield has some amazing options for this!

Since her “teenager” months, our pup can get a bit skittish with other dogs. Her confidence grows daily but it can be a bit of a worry.

This morning she greeted all dogs nicely and the joy on her face as she played and ran around with the other boisterous dogs brought me so much happiness! 🥰
