Specialist breeder of top quality USA silkies and Showgirls bred to the USA Breed Standard

Has anyone got empty incubator and brooder syndrome? We haven’t hatched since June last year and we have just put our first breeding pair together so hopefully they will start to produce some fertilised double dose mottled eggs for us shortly. Coming this year we will have breeding groups producing Pyle, blue splash showgirls, calico/blue buff showgirls, blue, black and chocolate mottled and solids in both USA and showgirls hopefully. The biggest goal this year is consistently good double mottled USA and showgirls and blue splash showgirls.

We have a few spares to move on comprising
White showgirl c**k who is stunning
White USA hen (potentially Pyle)

Eggs wise we will have have eggs for sale once we check fertility in spring from the following pens

Blue splash showgirl c**k over blue/mauve splash/blue buff USA and Showgirls

Blue splash USA c**k over chocolate and blue and black showgirls (blue, black, chocolate and mauve SG and USA possibilities)

Pyle groups (USA and SG possibilities)

Mottled groups
Blue, chocolate, black SG and USA possibilities (single dose and double dose)

Snowball has been getting into the Christmas spirit. We want to wish you all a very merry Christmas and Happy New Year when it comes. Thanks for the continued support throughout this year and we cannot wait to share our plans and results next year with you all. Our four mottled boys for next year….one black (single dose) showgirl boy, one single dose black mottled USA boy, and two double dose mottled boys all home bred with us. Mottled, Pyle and blue splash showgirls and USA silkies is our focus for next year but we will be selling eggs from all our pens

Top quality showgirls/USA silkies bred to the breed standard from generations of hardy birds that have been well acclimatised to the Scottish weather. Our birds are well handled, healthy and confident, always around your feet nosey and wanting to know what you are up to unlike factory reared birds that you will never be able to handle. Chip off the old block - dominoes son. Sadly domino passed away a couple days ago. Think this boy needs to stay to replace his dad. I have three mottled boys all very similar. He was an amazing bird and has produced some cracking birds these past couple of years

Pretty devastated today to lose my special boy Domino. He was my first mottled c**kerel from Poland who has left a fantastic legacy behind him in the amazing babies he has produced on his short two years on this planet. I have been really gutted all day about him. I found him peacefully asleep this morning after showing no signs of illness. I have his children, grand children and now mottled showgirl great grandchildren with me. He formed the foundation bricks to my mottled breeding programme and with his help produced the first ever U.K. bred choc mottled showgirl and blue mottled showgirl in the U.K here at EllJayart USA Silkies & Showgirls sleep tight big man. You were a real character and gentleman. He joins his partner Puzzle and leaves me now without my first generation. I will miss him loads, first photos were of domino the following ones are off some of his offspring over the past two years

We have cut down to focus on Pyle usa silkies and showgirls, mottled USA silkies and showgirls and one group of blue/splash and blue buff USA and showgirls. Projects are our speciality. This year we have created the first choc mottled, blue mottled and black mottled showgirl bred in the U.K. this boy is from our fourth generation of breeding mottleds. The aim for next year is to create the first blue splash showgirl bred in the U.K.

Stunning home bred Pyle USA Silkie. We have kept growers from our original pair we bred this year and have some incredible birds for next years breeding programme. We have cut down to focus on Pyle usa silkies and showgirls, mottled USA silkies and showgirls and one group of blue/splash and blue buff USA and showgirls. Projects are our speciality. This year we have created the first choc mottled, blue mottled and black mottled showgirl bred in the U.K. this is from our fourth generation of breeding mottleds, this is also our second hen of Pyle and I believe there are no other Pyle showgirl breeders and also the aim for next year is to create the first blue splash showgirl bred in the U.K.

This wee girl doesn’t realise how special she is…..UK FIRST choc mottled SHOWGIRL!!! Bred here by us. The only one in the U.K. and only one bred on Scottish/U.K. soil. Three years in the making working on this project. Our mottled babies are stunning and growing well and we cannot wait to see what the next generation produces next year.

Another great day here at EllJayart USA Silkies & Showgirls - another U.K. first for this week! We have a choc mottled showgirl hatched from our own lines, to add to this weeks success of a black mottled showgirl and a blue mottled showgirl hatching too! 3.5 yrs working on our own line now and couldn’t have done it without the support and addition of outside lines from the best breeders in U.K. and Europe, thanks to all who have worked with me to achieve this success over the years. Consistency and hard work is key. Never compromise on quality and only breed the very best to remove faults and staying in line with the USA breed standard at all times has been my focus! It took a long time but I’m so glad I battled on even after a few major disasters along the way!

A little boys dream...

A 6 year old little boy's dream - his mum invested in his little business buying him his first batch of eggs. With these chicks he will grow his flock, sell eggs to his neighbours to eat and hatch chicks to sell in return learning fully how to care for the chickens, learn the valuable skills of money management and how to run a little business (with his mum's help of course ;) His passion for animals at the centre of it all.
