Canine Hoopers is a fast-growing new dog sport in
the U.K.It’s a fun, low impact, free flowing sport that is suitable for almost every dog, from 6 months old to golden oldies! It provides the same momentum & excitement as agility, but there is no high impact equipment, jumps or tight turns. Just hoops, barrels, tunnels, chute and a tango mat. As a handler you work towards encouraging distance handling through the use of verbal & visual cues, so handlers/dogs with limited mobility can take part too. The equipment:-
• Hoops – dogs move through the hoops with no jumping or tight turns.
• Barrels – the dogs move around the barrel as a bend or turn.
• Tunnel – The dogs learn to go through the tunnel, which are extra large (80cm) and always straight.
• Tango Mat – Dogs learn to cross the tango mat through a set of poles with no jumping. Chute - dogs move through the chute with no jumping.
