Hi and thanks for visiting my profile :)
I'm Jess, a friendly animal lover who has always had cats. I'm originally from South London and relocated up to South Yorkshire (Wath upon Dearne) in April 2022. I am fully insured and have had jobs through Cat in a Flat for 6 years, there is a link to my profile on this page where you can read reviews.
I always had cats growing up, starting from both cat and kitten age.
I got my cat from a rescue centre in 2015. She was aged 1-2 and found as a pregnant stray, possibly abandoned. She was a bit nervous at first but it didn't take long to settle in and is the happiest most affectionate cat. She is very spoilt and we have a great bond.
I love cats and always like to give them attention. I would like to know a bit about the personality of your cat or cats so I know what makes them feel happy, whether they like lots of attention or prefer a bit of space. I will always let them come to me and not overly encourage them to as I know cats don't like that.
My sister also had a cat sitting business several years ago which was based in the South London area which I used to help out with and met many amazing cats along the way.
The best part of the job is when the more timid cats slowly get used to me and I can tell they trust me more as time goes on and it makes me very happy! Lots of owners say I won't see much if any of some cats but I think they sense they can trust me and that I adore them!
I have experience in medicating cats, including my own who has medication for asthma.
If you have smaller animals I have had hamsters in the past, I am familiar with birds and have looked after my friend's parrot who I can handle and give cuddles to. I am happy to feed fish, water plants, gardens etc, take bins out so you can relax knowing everything is ticking over while you're away.
I will keep you as updated as you wish to be while you are away and send photos so you know your cat or pets are doing well and are happy and in good hands and your house is safe. I am happy to open and close curtains etc for extra security measures or whatever you require.
