Feeding my dogs kibble the controversy!
I used to be a raw enthusiast. Why has this changed?
Don't get me wrong, I'm still a raw enthusiast. I'm a big believer that raw/home cooked are best for our dogs' well-being and health.
However, years ago, when I was only feeding my dogs raw meat, I wasn't balancing their food properly. Feeding raw meat isn't satisfactory enough. It can lead to an unbalanced diet.
Dogs need lots of vital vitamins and nutrients to thrive.
Do I still feed raw?
Yes. But I'm also currently adding in cold pressed raw by Forthglade. It's afforable and means my dogs are getting everything that keeps weight on them and offers them diet variety.
Am I on expensive raw meat? Hell no. I'm on the most basic you can find, rotating different proteins.
Why has all this changed?
Let's be honest ,raw feeding isn't cheap. Adding in additional supplements isn't cheap. Managing a dog with allergies isn't cheap. Having a 7 pet household isn't cheap.
Am I making sure all my pets get everything they need emotionally, physically, nutrionially, and holistically? Yes.
There is such a judgment across platforms from raw feeders for people who aren't feeding their pets to the highest standard.
But without knowing someone's life, who are we to judge?
Stop projecting onto other people. It's not healthy. We should support and educate.
Help other dog owners to help their dogs thrive.
