Jake doesn’t really like to eat out of a bowl. He seems to find it more interesting when I throw it around for him. He quite likes to chase it 🤣 if you have a dog who is similar, try scatter feeding and/or try a puzzle/maze bowl. This is good mental stimulation for your dogs and can help to slow down their eating as well
Oh my little Jake 😍 excuse the over excited audio, I would have muted it but I wanted to show just how much this means to me! We have had Jake just coming up to 2 years now. He was found roaming the streets in Corby and when we eventually found out who the owner was, over 2 weeks later, we found out they knew the whole time that he had been found but they didn’t want to pay a fine to pick him up (which they wouldn’t have had to) 😔😭.. either way, if one of mine went missing, I would sell my house and pay as much as I had to if needed.
Anyway, when he first came home to us, he would only wag his tail at other dogs and he didn’t seem to know how to play at all.
It is only very very recently that he has started to wag his tail at me and I can get him to play with me too. This the first time I’ve got a full on wag out of him 😭
I can’t believe how long it has taken him to fully become comfortable with us although he has seemed happy here from day one. I knew it can take ‘rescues’ a while to settle but two years is crazy!!
I really hope he knows that he is here forever and he will always be safe and cared for the best he possibly can be.
I love him so much 😍🥰😍
One of the main reasons I do this pet sitting on the side of my full time job is to ensure that my babies are as well cared for and spoiled as possible. I just ordered some heating braces to help with Bear’s elbow dysplasia. All I want is for him to be comfortable… £140 later 😳🥴😍
Lovely Bear was just being polite, he didn’t really want the ice cube, he went outside and spat it out 😂
It is a myth that you cannot give ice cubes to your dogs. Yes, you need to take care and it is not appropriate to give them if your dog is suffering from heat stroke.
As long as your dog is healthy, and supervised, ice cubes can be given to your dog as a little fat free treat or put in their water bowl to keep their water nice and cold.
Frozen toys like kongs and lickimats are also a great idea on hot days ☀️
