Another new venue for mantrailing at the weekend. Each team moved forward in their training and a good time was had by all!
A fantastic four days of truffle hunting was had over the weekend. We had 3 days in our fab training venue and 1 day where we travelled to a truffle orchard. Thank you for all your support over this last year. Our Instructors have had their share of ups and downs this year and you have all been there in support and we truly appreciate it. Scent Camp had a get together on Sunday and we tested out some scent theories, discussed observations, ate cake and had a good time!
We had a great day yesterday on the Ultimate Nosework workshop. Scentwork in the morning and mantrailing in the afternoon. Searches were all about trusting your dog, airflow and just a little bit of scent geekery! Trails were awesome in the afternoon with some junctions, changes of terrain and considerable distractions. We missed Tweed on the day and hope we see her soon!
A thoroughly brilliant day yesterday with the first NinjaFest! A full day of mantrailing in the perfect venue with perfect weather and superb teams. There were aged trails, long trails, challenging trails and lots of skillbuilding. Fab day!

What a great afternoon of Mantrailing we had on Sunday. Some very challenging distractions on the trails but the teams coped well and we saw some lovely work. Well done all!
Our next session today was a Super Ninjas Mantrailing Workshop. Super Ninjas is where we work on more complex skills in Mantrailing. The teams were on fire 🔥
Thought I would surprise everyone and post photos of a class on the day it took place! There’s a first time for everything! Nice night for a tracking class. We looked at search squares first and then onto tracks on stubble. Thanks to Donald for allowing us to use the fields.
Most of our classes were rescheduled this week due to the heat but we were up with the larks yesterday morning and off to the woods and burn for water searches. A really enjoyable morning and humans and dogs all kept nice and cool! Thanks to Joyce for providing us with her fabulous venue.

We had a brilliant of Scent & Science with Dr Kathy Murphy from Barking Brains and Elliot Connor from EK9. Just the right blend of geeking out on science and practical Scentwork, good company and good fun. Massive thanks to Jennifer Will for allowing us to use her fabulous venue. The final day of the Detection Weekend with Simon Prins saw the teams undertake a 3 part challenge. We had a fantastic 3 days with Simon, lots of learning, lots of fun, lots of laughs and a great bunch of people and dogs. Huge thanks to Simon for making his first trip to Scotland to come and pass on his knowledge and expertise and haste ye back!
