Blu and Ava came into foster care when sadly their owner passed away.
The current situation with rescues is unprecedented with most of them at full capacity.
Fortunately All Animals Rescue and Re-Home offered to help Blu and Ava and arranged foster care with Jo Scutts.
They were both in desperate need for a bath and groom. Anita and Katie from Chic Grooming donated their time and stepped up to the challenge to make Blu and Ava feel more comfortable. Both dogs behaved so well throughout their grooming session.
Thank you to everyone involved in helping these two lovely dogs 🐾🐾

Ada’s first trip to the Isle of Wight 🐶
Clyde
Some owners can be apprehensive when it comes to letting their puppy or young dog off lead for the first time.
If an owner is worried, we advise the use of a long training line. This allows the puppy a bit more freedom whilst the owner still has control and can practice some short, achievable recalls.
As the owner gains a bit more confidence then the line can be trailed behind them.
There is no rush to discard the line and patience will get better results.
The video shows the progress of Clyde the husky. He started off just following his owner around the park and then we gradually introduced recall training in different environments and distractions.
It is still a work in progress and Clyde is progressing really well 🐶
Puppy Class
During our puppy classes we concentrate on socialising the puppies with their classmates.
It’s important from this early stage that we teach the pups to be sociable but still be able to focus on their owners when they are close to other puppies.
We have one pup off-lead at a time and the owners move around keeping the puppy’s attention.
All the puppies did really well 🐾🐶
Today we completed some training sessions with Marigold and Timber.
During the initial session they struggled being near each other and were vocal and full-on when we closed the distance between them.
We made steady progress by keeping them focused on their owners and gradually allowed them to walk off-lead, one at a time.
We concentrated on recall’s around distractions and we also brought our dog Wilma along as the ‘Mediator’ 😊
Today we let them both off lead at the same time and they showed they could meet calmly and actually played and interacted together really nicely.
A big ‘thank you’ to Marigold’s and Timber’s owners for their time and patience in working the dogs through the session’s and making such good progress 🐶🐶
I went to see Xena again at Foal Farm Animal Rescue. She is being so patient waiting for the right home to come and meet her.
The staff at Foal Farm are doing a great job at keeping her settled in the kennel environment.
We continued with another short tracking exercise and also introduced ‘recall’ to the whistle. She loves to learn and is a pleasure to train with🐾

I spent some more time this morning with Xena at Foal Farm Animal Rescue.
We introduced Xena to some very basic ‘tracking’ for some enrichment. Starting with a scent square, she quickly progressed to a short straight line track, well done Xena 😊
From the Foal Farm post you can see she hasn’t had a great start in life but is such a lovely girl looking for a special home.
Meet Xena - a beautiful 10 month old Belgian Malinois 💗
This stunner has had a bit of a journey and is now looking for a new home. For anyone who knows the breed, they are busy and driven and we are looking for a home with someone willing to do an activity such as canicross, agility or some form of running.
Xena was going to be euthanised due to barking in the home, previous to that she was trained to be a security dog but was passed on. Xena has spent the last 6 weeks with a trusted trainer who works alongside emergency services and unfortunately, where she had been trained at such a young age, is now scared to work.
Xena can jump high, so a secure garden is a must.
Xena is a bright, bubbly, fun and loving girl who needs her forever home. She has loads of character and will make a loyal and fun challenge for someone who wants to train🐾
Please apply via our website if you are interested in offering Xena her forever home 🐾

After a few busy days, it was good to have a ‘chill out’ with the dogs in the garden 🐾
Ada had her first trip to the seaside yesterday. Once she realised that the sea wasn’t actually trying to catch her, she enjoyed herself 🐶
The first session of the April Puppy Class included introducing the young puppies to some everyday objects.
They all coped well and were happy to confidently approach and investigate 👏🐾🐾
Some really good work from the puppies in the class this week. They all kept focussed on their owners whilst walking off-lead around their classmates. Well done 👏🐾🐾
The pup’s in today’s class practicing being recalled away from their classmates 👏🐾
