Area 5 looking for Bolesworth Showjumping team!!!

Do you have a good track record at showjumping 1m+?
Do you want to be put forward for an area5 team for Bolesworth International on Sunday 16th June?

Branch teams have now declared so we will now consider entries to be put in area teams in a "names out of a hat" policy.

We already have some names but we don't want anyone to miss out. Your DC will need to approve your application so please send your name and horse name to : [email protected] and copy in your DC by 8th May2024

After that we may arrange training before the event which you will be expected to attend.

Flint and Denbigh Branch Musical Ride

We are holding an audition rally to see what the interest is in producing a Musical Ride team.

Thursday April 25th

The competition takes place towards the end of the Pony Club Championships in Offchurch. Only 12 riders can be in a team but if enough interest, we could enter two teams.

Riders must be competent at canter safely on grass, ponies must be obedient, no kickers as this is a close formation stuff, no whips as you may need to carry props, no spurs because of costumes. Some ponies may need to wear costumes too !

It is a huge commitment for riders, ponies and parents alike and practices need to be a priority but it is good fun and quite an experience so come and see if you like it!

Twelve young Flint and Denbigh tetrathletes attended the Albrighton Branch Dry-Tri near Telford on Saturday, April 6th. It meant an early start but most of the phases took place in the afternoon. There wasn’t a team competition but they all did extremely well as individuals and everyone came home with a rosette and an Easter egg ! They had a wonderful day.

This was a Dry-Tri, so no swimming. The riding was arena eventing fences and classes depended on the height of the fences.

Notable achievements were :-

Elin Jones 3rd Mini Girl. Clear XC.
Zoe James won the Tadpoles with the top run. Clear XC.
Catrin Morgan was second. Clear XC.
Alys Evans 5th.
Megan Evans 9th with the top shoot of 860
Gweni Jones 5th Tadpole with top shoot of 800.
Joseff James won the Beanies with the top run, Ioan 4th and Harri 5th.
Anni Morgan won the Beanie girls.
Nanci Evans very kindly let Magi borrow Jedi for the ride so he went round twice – clear. Well done Nanci and Jedi.

TRIATHLON QUALIFIER MOLD MARCH 10TH 2024

Thirty fit Flint and Denbigh Triathletes competed in Mold at the qualifier for the Winter Triathlon Championships to be held in Grantham March 24th.

There were 32 Teams competing and one of the FnD teams came a close 3rd which was excellent. This team was Orla and Casper Kissane, Seren Walsh and Olivia Bexon. Except for Orla, who shot 940, the shoot scores were not the best for this team today. More practice needed !! A special mention must go to Orla who achieved over 3000 points and was the highest scorer of the day out of 125 competitors.. Well done Orla.

I can’t mention everyone but there were some notable achievements –

Harriet Goodall’s swim 9 lengths 5m, Orla won the Junior Girls class, Casper ran like a gazelle 3min 16s amazing, Mali did well to come 6th in a strong mini girls class, Jessica Hoyle came 7th. Her score is improving every time, Joseff James came 3rd in the Bean bag class. In a class of 22 Tadpole Girls we had Seren Walsh 2nd excellent run, Megan Evans 3rd (840 shoot) , Catrin Morgan 4th, Ellie Phillips 6th, Eos Newton 8th, Alys Evans 9th.

This was a qualifying competition and our FnD Qualifiers were Harriet Goodall, Leah Lamb and Olivia Bexon(Seniors), Orla Kissane (Junior Girls) and Casper Kissane (Mini Boy).

Congratulations and Good Luck to them at the Champs. They will have a blast.
