Flint and Denbigh Branch of the Pony Club put up a good show at the Triathlon last weekend. They put 22 members forward and although did not win the Team competition (16 teams), by coming 3rd, 4th and 8th showed the depth of interest in the sport. There was only 132 points between the first and third. If the Teams had been made up in a slightly different way, we could have been 2nd. Hindsight is a wonderful thing !! While we have some excellent shooters, some members are not consistent which makes putting teams together difficult.

The team which came 3rd was Catrin, Zoe, Orla and Elin.

Every single FnD member, bar one, came home with a rosette or medal and there were some exceptional performances. Top FnD shoot was equal Zoe and Alys with 880.

In their different classes, the following won their class— Orla, Zoe, Megan, Joseff, Finlay, Nansi and Tomos. WELL DONE ALL.

The teams for the next competition will be selected from the highest scorers this time. M.E.G.

Area 5 Triathlon – Mold – October 2024

FnD had 27 competitors forward so a really good turn out – more than any other Branch. Well done Parents and Members.

There were 15 teams competing and it was close at the top. One FnD team came 3rd with a score of 8437 points – beaten by just 99 points. The team was

Orla, Zoe, Catrin and Megan
Another team was 6th

Lleucu, Casper, Elin and Alys
Full results are on Pony Club Results so won’t mention everyone but

Individually – Orla shone by winning the Senior Girls class with a 920 shoot and top run
Casper was 4th Junior Boy although not yet a Junior. Shoot not quite up to scratch
Lleucu was 6 th Junior Girl
FnD dominated in the Mini Girls coming 1st , 2nd , 3rd and 5th places.

Zoe 1st with top run,
Elin 2nd with an amazing 920 shoot and top swim
Catrin 3rd
Jess came 5th
Both Zoe and Catrin were competing as Minis (turning targets) for the first time.

Tadpole Girls were dominated again by FnD…

1st was Megan with 900 shoot, top swim and top run. Well done Megan.
Eos was 2nd
Alys 3rd and
Gweni 6th even though she can hardly see over the shoot table !
Beanie Girls was won by Anni with top run and Magi was 2nd.

Tomos won the Beanie Biathlon Boys. There were 9 in the class and 8
of them were FnD !x

Beanie Biathlon Girls was won by Nansi with a very fast run. Esmay did very well but needs to practise her bean bags !!
