"What Fanta has been up to "
This is a snap shot of her running dogwalk training, I am so pleased with her, she is getting super low hits, we have only done the full dogwalk a few times, the hits are a little bit higher than I would like but this will improve as she gains confidence.
It has been a very long process, to get to this point it has taken 7 months and I have uploaded approx 100 videos to an online course for feedback.
Jo over heard someone say "running contacts is a lifestyle choice" it is so true
The lady went on to say " I ain't going there " 🤣🤣🤣
Fanta has started competing at KC shows, we are just doing jumping and steeplechase as we are still working on our contacts.
Yesterday we went to Blackdown G1-3 show, all our foundation work has really paid off, winning her jumping run
So proud of my little Guinea pig 🥰
I have 1 space left in our new foundation course starting Thurs 31st Oct 6pm
Fanta has been doing some of her H360 work this week, we have been concentrating on her running dogwalk, weaves and seesaw we have neglected our handling skills
Today was pull through threadles on 2 jumps, we have done a few sessions, the first session used body language to help by turning into the jump, having the toy on the wing really helped her.
Today we just needed a little pause on the wing and she knew she needed to take the jump,
So proud of my little Guinea pig
Fanta has been working hard on her weaves recently, we used the channels method and it worked brilliantly for her, this week we have got them straight, the little piggy is weaving 🥰🥰
We have also been working on our 3 pole weave entry game, where I ask her to weave from different angles with little or no body language to help her understand the entry without relying on me to help her.
This is just a short clip of the session
I am considering running some weave workshops on a Tuesday morning, drop us a message if you are interested
Fanta's running dog walk training is progressing really well
We are on stage 5 of 8, having done over 60 sessions, all of them videoed, edited and posted to the online course we are doing to get feedback, it is so worth it when you get a session like this one, every rep was a JP 🥰🥰🥰
I have cut out the rewarding but JPs get massive play and lots of it, the really good ones get to do tunnel as well, she just loves her DW training
what Fanta's been up to
For people following Fanta's agility journey this is what Fanta has been up to last weekend, you might have seen the post that she got a 1st place in her first run at steeplechase at Agility 4 All competition this is her video, so so proud of my baby girl 🥰🥰🥰
Check out the threadle wrap
Just need to eliminate the victory spin luckily it was not closer to the finish jump as she would have got 5 faults 🫣
Not that I would have let her know she had done anything wrong just want her to be confident
Two 121s available tomorrow with Jo....
1230pm at the barn and 2.30pm at the field.
Get in touch to book 🐶
As requested Fanta in slow mo
I haven't posted a Fanta video for sometime, sorry been moving my flower shop to new premises so been a bit crazy
We are doing an online running contact course, this is the final session of stage 3, we have done lots of sessions and it's so tempting to move forward before being told to but I am determined to get this right with Fanta, foundations are so important
Stage 4 is to go up to 80cm in height
Fanta is at her first training camp in Cornwall and she is smashing it, she hasn't worked outside very much and never with another dog running in the next ring ( field separated by orange fencing)
She has been completely focused on me, even when another dog lunged at her through the fencing whilst she was running 🤩
The video is her highlights from today
This week Fanta has been continuing her understanding of her tunnel cues, in the last session I only had one barrel when I wanted her to go straight it was in front of tunnel and for the turn it was on the left or right
This session I had 2 barrels, one out straight and one for the turn.
Nice and easy for the straight extension but challenging for the turn, she did really well, when she found it hard to turn and failed a couple of times I moved the barrel in front of the tunnel further away to help her succeed and build her confidence, this a lesson I will keep working so she really understands the verbal cue
Fanta has been practicing her commitment to the jump using a game called reverse retrieve
This is stage 3 of this game, look back at Fanta's videos for the foundations of this game.
We love this game its so much fun and really helps the dog understand I told you to go that way when I am actually running the other way, really good practice for the start of this weeks course 😀
