I operate in Horley, Shipley bridge, Crawley, Smallfield, Outwood and other surrounding areas Hi everyone, I believe that animals are the best company and like me I know many of you would agree. From that opening sentence you maybe picturing the crazy dog lady. However, I am very fond of people too. In fact, I could talk to people for hours especially if the conversation is all about dogs! My nam
e is Lauren, and I am dog walker/ pet sitter. I am here to offer you a helping hand. Balancing work, children, gym, cleaning the house, self-care, sleeping, yoga and all the other expectations put on us by society today can be a little overwhelming to say the least. Finding a loving and caring dog walker that you can trust can help relieve some of this pressure(s). I am a very dedicated and passionate individual with a great deal of knowledge regarding animals, especially dogs. I have listed my experience with animals below so that you can rest assured knowing that your dog(s) are in capable and caring hands. • 13 years employed within animal welfare, 7 years working at a contracted metropolitan police kennels which housed dogs that had been seized under “The Dangerous Dogs Act 1991” where I handled a variety of dogs, often with behavioral needs. • The remaining 6 years I was employed by the RSPCA where I filled several roles including animal care assist, Acting as behavior welfare advisor and my final position as Kennel Supervisor. • Completed equine courses- First diploma in horse care, National diploma in horse management, BHS stage one and BHS riding and road safety. • Volunteered for the SDDT where I assisted in classes for puppy life skills and basic training for dogs. • Dog and human first aid trained • Completed RSPCA courses – Understanding and preventing aggression in dogs, Wildlife (the first 24 hours), Microchip implant training, animal handling and restraining, animal health check, diet and nutrition. Understanding and meeting the welfare needs of dogs in kennels, Care of animals and maintenance of accommodation, standard procedures and manual handling. • Fully insured and DBS checked I only use positive reward-based training. Dogs are exercised in smaller groups (maximum of 3) ensuring they all benefit from the extra care and attention of their handler. Solo walks, for dogs who prefer their own company, can be offered (subject to availability). All dogs will initially be walked on a lead, flexi or training line. Once a solid recall and bond is established with the handler, your pet can enjoy some free running off lead. The initial meet and greet is free and is a great opportunity to express any concerns, ask questions and of course check your pet and myself are a suitable match. I tend to work Mon- Friday and operate in Horley, Shipley bridge, Copthorne, Small field, Outwood, Crawley and surrounding areas.
