We are hiring - immediate start
We are looking for part time store associates to join our team with potential to progress into grooming.
What are we looking for:
Must be obsessed with dogs all shapes and sizes
Experience with dogs canine qualifications preferred but nutritional training will be provided
Confident working independently but also great as part of a small team.
Great interpersonal skills.
Permanent position starting with initially 16 hours, 10 - 6 Tuesday & Thursday but potential to increase to full time.

How was your Halloween weekend ? lots fun and treats we hope, with all those sweets and chocolate about the house it pays to keep an eye on our furry friends who may find their noses in places the shouldn't be.
Chocolate is toxic to dogs, and depending on the type and amount of chocolate consumed and the weight of your dog, it could cause a serious medical emergency. If you know your dog has eaten chocolate, it’s important to monitor him/her for signs of toxicity,
chocolate poisoning usually appear within 6 to 12 hours after your dog has eaten it and may last up to 72 hours, here are the symptoms you might expect to see.
Vomiting
Diarrhoea
Restlessness
Increased urination
Tremors
Elevated or abnormal heart rate
Seizures
Collapse
These cases are rare but its worth keeping an eye out, I know just the thought of my dogs getting ill is a lot scarier then anything is saw this weekend.

There are several reasons a dog may resist your efforts to cuddle. Some are simply down to nature, a dog’s first instinct in the face of danger is to run away and being held prevents him from doing that.
It's also possible that your dog has had a negative experience with a restraining hug, think about it. your dog may have been restrained at the veterinary clinic to make it possible to perform an exam or a procedure that the dog doesn’t like, vaccinations, nail trims, having a thermometer inserted into his rear end, all these procedures can be uncomfortable and unpleasant for dogs, and may cause them to associate hugs with those undesirable experiences.
other reasons could be, your dog may dislike or be afraid of hugs from young children, who can be unintentionally rough with a dog. Toddlers can grab too hard, hold too tight and accidentally pull fur or ears or step on tails when they give a dog a hug. That’s why veterinarians and other dog experts everywhere advise parents not to let children hug dogs. It’s all too easy for a well-meaning hug to lead to a bite.

Lockdowns have led to a rise in pet owners across the country but now as more people are returning to the office and leaving pets home alone, there has been a renewed call for what is now dubbed as "Pawternity" leave. A recent government petition was rejected due to lack of clarity and Roger wade founder of boxpark shopping and dining chain surveyed his LinkedIn followers of which 61% of 34,000 responders said it was not a good idea. The Kennel club and Brewdog both have informal policies in place for employees with sick pets but what do you think ? comment and let us know you thoughts.

How many official dog breeds are there? Good question and a tricky answer because the KC, AKC and FCI all recognise a different number of breeds but here in the UK The Kennel Club currently accredit 222 with the Labrador retriever being the UK's most popular.
