What an amazing evening last night! So great to see so many people supporting the launch of our new restaurant! Friday night fish night is booking up fast! We are also still running our new cafe seven days a week for breakfast and lunch with summer BBQs on the weekend (obviously weather dependent!)

Dog mutilation: three men have been jailed after they cropped three puppies' ears

➡️Here at Veterinary Voices UK we are aware on the growing trend and market for dogs with cropped ears.

Since the release of a documentary back in 2021 highlighting the distressing and illegal UK activity, the market is still sadly thriving.

These men are unfortunately in the minority of those getting sanctions for their actions.

It's time to Stop The Crop!

➡️Ear cropping is unnecessary mutilation.
➡️It is done for no other purpose other than aesthetics.
➡️There are no proven health benefits to this procedure.
➡️It is illegal in the UK - for good reason.

Heartbreaking:

💬 “Two puppies were found bleeding with stitches in their ears and were hardly breathing. Another puppy was found with the same injuries hidden behind a sofa. A further three puppies were in the property but had not had the procedure.”

➡️ Sadly dogs can experience behavioural, psychological and physiological effects from this. They are unable to express natural body language, they can experience aversion to their ears and face being touched and surgery sites can become infected.

How can I help?

✅ Help disseminate good information on this illegal procedure
✅Continue to educate
✅Speak out against celebrity endorsement
✅Do not buy or import cropped eared dogs
✅Report suspicious activity
✅Report sales of very young dogs with cropped ears
✅Lobby the government or support appropriate petitions
