​I have always adored animals ever since I can remember. I also did pet sitting alongside this.

Pet sitting with Flossie offers you and your animals, friendly, safe and stress free services so that you can leave your beloved pet in the best hands feeling guilt free. My Grandpa, who was a veterinarian gave me the inspiration to work with animals. I volunteered at two different veterinary practices and had a job as a kennel assistant. I have a lot of experience dealing with a variety of pets,

alongside administering medication. Last year, I decided to get my own black labrador, Pepper. I used this opportunity to start my own pet sitting business, that Pepper can be a part of every day. Pepper has grown up being around all different breeds of dogs and she loves every single one of them. I have a lot of care and compassion for each animal I look after, which is why I will treat your pets like my own. I understand how hard it can be to leave your pet in the care of someone unfamiliar. They are a part of your family and will become part of mine from the second they are in my care. I will always arrange a FREE consultation to meet you and your furry friend, so you will have full confidence with your pet being in my care.

Responsibilities:
🚶‍♂️ Daily dog walks
🐕 Managing the pack safely
🏡 Offering additional pet care services (doggy daycare, boarding, housesitting - if interested)
💼 Part-time, self-employed position to start

Requirements:
🚗 Own vehicle
💵 £11 per hour
⏰ Part-time to start
🐶 Love for dogs, trustworthy, reliable, and great time management

During the Easter period, there’s a lot more risk of our dogs getting to our chocolate stash! 🐣🍫🐾

Theobomine and Caffeine are the two chemicals in chocolate that are toxic for dogs.

Unlike humans, dogs process these two chemicals slowly, allowing them to build up in their systems and develop chocolate toxicity.

White & milk chocolate are diluted therefore contains less Theobomine and Caffeine, unlike dark chocolate which is purer. So the darker the chocolate, the more dangerous.

What happens if a dog eats chocolate?

It depends on how much they have consumed. Sometimes they may only develop mild symptoms such as an upset stomach (vomiting & diarrhoea)

In worse cases some symptoms can develop to:

- Seizures
- Internal bleeding
- Irregular heart rate
- Death

What is the treatment?

If dogs are taken to the vets in time (usually within an hour of consuming), vets can induce vomiting to get it out their system.

If the chocolate has been in the dogs system for longer, vets administer activated charcoal or intravenous fluids.

Depending on their clinical symptoms, they may need to be hospitalised for further treatment.

Severe chocolate toxicity can be fatal.

Last year, I decided to get my own black Labrador, Pepper. I used this opportunity to start my own pet sitting business, that Pepper can be apart of everyday. Pepper has grown up being around all different breeds of dogs and she loves every single one of them. This makes my job super easy as I know that she will welcome any dog that comes through the door.
