Nassau Road, Bride - Drainage Works

The Department is to expand and improve the surface water drainage system at the eastern end of Nassau Road (nearest Bride Road). Work will include the installation of new road gullies and a new culvert across the carriageway Excess surface water will be piped away from the road into Curragh Pharrick where it will be directed to an existing water course.

The existing drainage ditches, which run to the west of the entrance of Glascoe Beg veterinary surgery (Jane Callow's) will also be cleared.

Work will commence on or about Monday 3 February and will take up to a fortnight to complete.

There will be a temporary road closure in place for the duration of this work.

Access for residents, and to Glascoe Beg Veterinary Surgery

The planned works will be undertaken in two stages, access arrangements will be different for each stage.

• Stage 1 – Installation of New Culvert and Gullies
Whilst the carriageway is being excavated for the new culvert, access to all properties (including the vet’s surgery) to the west of “Cronk Ghennie” will be from the western end of the road (from Regaby/Andreas Road). All other properties will be accessible from the eastern end (from Bride Road). These arrangements will be on a 24-hour basis.
• Stage 2 - Ditching
Whilst ditch clearance is underway there will be no access between “ Nassau” and the entrance lane to Glascoe Beg veterinary surgery during working hours. Access to the veterinary surgery and all properties to the east of this will be via Bride Road. All other properties to the west of “Nassau” will be accessed via Regabay/Andreas Road.

Whilst stage 2 of this work is underway, it is expected that outside of working hours (8 to 4 on weekdays) it will be possible to fully reopen the road to through traffic.

Diversion Route
There will be a signed diversion route via Ballacorey Road.

There will be a letter drop to residents giving details of the works delivered in the next few days.
