Say Hi Saturday is here again!
This we are pleased to introduce Nikki who is part of our reception team.
Nikki is a long-registered veterinary nurse, but is taking a break from physical nursing for a while and keeping one paw in the industry as our part time temporary receptionist, while she concentrates on her freelance creative career in freelance hairdressing and theatrical wigs. She has just finished an epic 5 week run at the Lowry theatre on a Christmas musical!
Having a vocation as a veterinary nurse is like ‘Royston Vasey’ in that “you can never leave”, and you always end up coming back, but Nikki feels that it’s important (in any job) to work with people and companies that you like and agree with. Having recently spent 5 years at the PDSA and before that having worked at other much needed animal charities, she feels that our working model of the mobile vet is also an important and much needed way of providing veterinary care in people's homes, that many pets and clients really benefit from. Nikki really likes the team here at My Visit Vet and hopes that her veterinary nurse knowledge can be of use on the phone sometimes too.
Nikki would love to work at a wildlife hospital if she ever went back into a nursing role, but for now will be answering calls at My Visit Vet, and volunteering with the Bats Conservation Trust helpline too ..and trying to convince her own shiny black cat Quincey that he’s her best and most loyal friend, and not a wild panther, as he believes. You may find Nikki flexing her scissors on various human heads in the local area on most other days.
