First Christmas coming up so resting before the new challenges, including socialising with quite a few adults, a new puppy, 2 older dogs and a toddler. Not to mention the challenge of not hoovering up the Turkey whilst counter surfing. Ah well, one of my pointer predecessors "scared" the pet hamster to death on boxing day, so I have a way to go to beat that!!!

Several firsts today. First time at a Norfolk beach. First time off lead, coming to chicken rather than my name. And I met my cousin Barclay, for the first time. (Golden Retriever). A very good day.

Strangely reluctant to get out of the car today although I can keep like a gazelle when I want to. Mum experimented with leaving me alone for 20 minutes. I was silent and sleepy when she got back. Had only just managed the ham and cream cheese on top of the frozen Kong. Too much like hard work. I might just be the most perfect dog. X

So I will hopefully have Polina home on 18th September. I would welcome some advice on the type of collar/lead to use on a dog of 1 that may be unused to lead walking. Some sites seem to use the slip lead but I see a lot of rescued pointers on Facebook with harnesses.
