☀️🐶 Throwback to Summer 🐶☀️

With the nights drawing in and the year coming to a close, we've been reflecting on the year here at Church Walk and what better way than looking back at photos.

This handsome little bean is Rico, he spent the day with us back in the summer for his neutering surgery. Here he is having extra cuddles with our lovely receptionist, Hannah!

If you're ever worried about your pet coming in to stay with us, rest assured there's always someone on hand to provide comfort and treats!

Please do not touch dead or obviously sick birds - sick birds with suspicious symptoms or dead birds should be reported to DEFRA.

⭐ Star Patient ⭐

This absolute diamond is Jess! She comes to see us regularly to have her arthritis meds reviewed and just lately she came in to tell us how she's feeling fit as a fiddle!

We've managed to get the balance just right lately but as arthritis is always changing we keep in touch with her mum to make sure there's no missing pieces to the puzzle!

Jess loves her trips to the vets as much as we love seeing her ❤️ She's always sure to perform a whole repertoire of tricks including singing us some of her favourite songs!

Meet Skyler!

Skyler came to see us in October to discuss calming medication as she finds fireworks super scary. I reckon it's because those beautiful ears can hear them for miles!

🔬November - Pet Cancer Awareness Month 🔬

With 1 in 4 dogs and 1 in 5 cats developing cancer in their lifetime, early detection is key!

Over the next number of months, if you book in for a consultation for a new mass that you've noticed on your pet, we can take a sample and check the cells under the microscope free of charge.

If the cells we see look benign then we can all feel reassured that it's nothing to worry about. However, if we notice any concerning cells under the microscope we might recommend sending the sample to the lab to confirm a diagnosis and ensure early treatment.

🌿 Fern 🌿

Fern is one of our favourite adventure-loving spaniels so it was a worrying time when we heard she wasn't feeling her best!

Fern had a little adventure-related mishap and fractured one of her lower canine teeth. The canine teeth are some of the biggest teeth dogs have and their roots are even longer than the tooth you can see above the gumline!

Taking these teeth out is a major dental surgery and it can take an hour or more just to remove one of them - even longer when they're broken in two!

Clever Fern took her dental surgery like a pro and is recovering well! She especially enjoyed the rather nice painkillers she had - see the last photo for proof 😍

🐾 Honey's Healthy Pet Check 🐾

This pretty young lady is Honey! We're absolutely here for her autumnal fashion accessories and are very excited to see her winter wardrobe next month!

She came in yesterday for her 6 month health check included on the Healthy Pet Club. She collected her flea and worm treatments and we had a chat about neutering as well. Honey's favourite part of her visit was the steady stream of snacks coming her way!
