A spotlight on Boomer the search and rescue dog 🐾

Boomer uses his incredible senses to help others, what a hero!

Although unfortunately, he was diagnosed with elbow dysplasia which sometimes causes pain and discomfort. Alongside physio, Boomer has been using HeaLED red light therapy to help relieve his symptoms to help him get back to work.

IVDD in dogs is a medical condition that can cause spinal pain and immobility.

It’s sadly a common spinal disease in dogs and occurs mostly when the cushioning discs between the bones of the spinal column ruptures.

This causes the disc material to push onto the spinal cord, causing pain, nerve damage, and, unfortunately in some cases, paralysis.

If your dog is suffering from IVDD, there are ways to reduce the pain. Your vet will probably advise on strict rest for a few weeks, as well as painkillers, physio and red light therapy to help reduce symptoms of pain and discomfort.

If you are worried that your dog may be suffering, please speak to your vet immediately.
