Hi all.
Unfortunately there’s reports of a nasty sickness & diarrhoea bug that could have links with parvovirus going round dogs in the local area.
As yet I haven’t had any dogs with the illness but wanted to make owners aware.
Symptoms of parvovirus are:
•high temperature
•lethargy
•off food
•vomiting
•diarrhoea (often severe with blood in it)
Dogs with parvo can become dehydrated very quickly, it’s vital if you have any concerns to contact your vets for advice immediately.
Dogs can become infected with parvo through direct contact with an infected dog, its poo or vomit, or something that has itself been in contact with an infected dog, its poo or vomit.
As always I’ll be doing everything I can to minimise any dogs being exposed to any nasty bugs.
I’m politely asking owners to please make themselves aware of the symptoms and please inform me immediately if your dogs show any symptoms.
Unfortunately there’s always a few that make the majority of dog owners look bad and don’t think it’s necessary to clean up after their dogs, now more than ever it’s really important to pick poo up and dispose of it correctly.
Thankyou for your cooperation and understanding.
Fingers crossed none of the gang will get it 🐶
