During this unprecedented time, we have experienced high numbers of Facebook messages, emails and calls regarding our rescue work, in particular the XL Bully and "Type" ban, as well as for our other animal and pet care services.
If you have sent a message either today or prior to today through Facebook, and have not yet received a response, you should be receiving a reply tomorrow (Friday). We apologise for the delay but we have been amazed by the hundreds of enquiries we have received.
Finally, our sincere thanks must go out to each and every one of you who have made enquiries about the dogs available for adoption, those of you who have adopted, those of you who have helped foster some of the dogs temporarily and those of you who have helped transport the dogs to their forever homes 🐶

Bouncing into the weekend like .....⬇️
Have a great Caturday 🐈
After a long wet walk, it's time to snuggle in bed for a nap.
We have a little availability for dog walking during the week, and at the weekends. Please contact us for more information.
Friday Fact: Sweet Chestnuts
If you, like us, have been blessed with the falling of sweet chestnuts bouncing off your cars, driveways and homes, please don't sweep them all up and put them in the bin, or eat them all yourselves, please consider leaving some out for the animals.
Sweet chestnuts are a fantastic food source for a variety of animals including badgers, squirrels, deer, mice, foxes, voles and birds. 🦡🐿🦌🐁🦊
We can't wait for spring and summer as the trees attract a wide variety of pollinators and other insects to their flowers, and micro-moths to their leaves. 🌳
If you have never eaten sweet chestnuts before, please do not confuse them with horse chestnuts ("conkers") as they are poisonous to humans. Sweet chestnuts are low in calories and low in fat. They can be roasted, used in cake fillings, in stuffing and in nut roasts too. 😋
Christmas and New Year is just around the corner and we have limited availability for pet care left for the holidays.
Book now to save disappointment!

Chickens, chickens and more chickens.... whether you are an individual, a school or a smallholding with one or a flock, we provide poultry* care including visits, boarding, coop cleaning and farm hands.
We have even in the past brought home the incubators to keep an eye on the eggs and newly hatched chicks before moving them to their brooding boxes while the owners are away.
We have good knowledge in HPAI & LPAI and always follow Defra's and APHA's guidelines, and the rules in disease zones.
*chickens, quails, ducks, turkeys, pheasants, geese and guineafowl.
Taking in the seasonal changes 🐾
It's "Friday FeelGood" 🐦
Having some quality bird time.
Do you love reptiles as much as we do? They may not be "cute and cuddly" but they're certainly "cute and (mostly) scaley".
But we know that they are not everyone's cup of tea and, if you want to go away for the weekend or for longer, it can prove difficult to find someone to visit your pet or a boarding establishment to care for them while you are away. There is so much to take care of to ensure that your reptile is outstandingly cared for, specifically to its species within it's the enclosure. For example: lighting, heating, humidity, substrate, food (not everyone likes to deal with live food, - bugs, lots and lots of jumping, flying, chirping bugs, frozen and raw food - mice, rats, chickens, guinea pigs, deer etc), dechlorinated water and so on.
Black Cricket Animal Services can provide a range of services for reptiles including pet visits and enclosure cleaning.
We also have a dedicated reptile boarding room suitable for a range of the smaller species of reptiles (currently for lizards and tortoises) such as bearded dragons, crested geckos, leopard geckos, blue tongue skinks, Hermann's and horsefield tortoises. We also have a 'free roaming room' which can accommodate larger tortoises such as sulcatas. For boarding animals we can pick up and return within the local areas via our pet taxis.
And, if you have an animal collection, we can provide an extra helping hand whenever the need arises.
Please get in touch if you'd like to know more 🐢🐍🦎
We have availability for ad hoc dog walking (lead and off lead) during the week and at weekends. We offer a variety of walks (per time and per distance) with as much playing, cuddles and fun as your dog enjoys.
We use positive reinforcement on all of our walks and cater for toy through to giant breeds. We even have a dog buggy for those who are unable to walk very far but would just enjoy being out and about in the fresh air.
If you would like to find out more about this service or any of our other services that we,
Black Cricket Animal Services, offers please do get in touch.
Did you know that we offer a variety of dog walking, jogging and running sessions? These take place on week days and weekends. From toy breeds to giant breeds we offer exercise per time and exercise per mileage, with time for sniffing, playing and cuddles too 🐩🦮
Any box will do..... 🐱

We have been quiet of late but that's all going to change... we are reaching new heights and it's "all change" from September. Further information to come but we will be continuing to provide pet care in the local area.
So until our next post, here's a few cute little kitties 😻
